116 New York Criticism--Sept. 24th, 1906 ZARA & STETSON: Man and woman. In a baton juggling act. Act is almost too well known to need any comment. They old their own as Baton Jugglers and are alright to play occasionally. 9 min.-full st KENNY & HOLLIS: 2 young men. Singing and Talking. Improved since last here. Their material is bright and delivered well. It is a very good three show act. 16 min. in one- MARION & DEANE: Man and woman. In a talking and singing skit. This is not a very brilliant turn. Their voices are not much, especially that of the woman. The man's character work is good and material rather bright, which allows them to pass by. They made good, however, in this place. 14 min. in one- 3 shows D'ELMAR BROS: 2 men. One working straight, the other eccentric, in an acrobatic comedy barrel jumping act. The comedy is not much, but the barrel jumping allows them to finish to good applause. Alright for an early place. 12 min.-full stage- 3 shows. TEXARKANA & [WALEY? WALBY?]: 2 young ladies. In a singing and dancing act. Too well known to need comment. The dancing, as usual, went very strong. 12 min. in one- 3 shows WILLIS FAMILY: Second week. All of their selections received good applause, and I believe they went fully as strong as last week. 21 min BARTHOLDY'S BIRDS: This act is presented by a man and woman in costume. The cockatoos are well trained and went through an excellent performance this afternoon. In its entirety, it is a very pretty sight act. 9 min.-full stage- 2 shows LEE TUNG FOOH: This man is sort of a novelty. He wears the costume of his native country. Sings in Chinese, German and English with a little talk, that pleases. He has a pleasant personality with good mannerisms. His voice is good, although not musical, but has great volume. He was easily the applause hit of the show this time and I believe he will be able to hold his own over the circuit. 12 min in one- 2 shows MONROE, MACK & LAWRENCE: In a sketch, entitled:- "The Servant Girl Question." The business and situations of the act are very good and extremely funny, appealing to the cheaper classes. Act went big on account of the scarcity in comedy preceding it. 17 min.-full stage-2 shows
