116 New York Criticism--Sept. 24th, 1906 ZARA & STETSON: Man and woman. In a baton juggling act. Act is almost too well known to need any comment. They hold their own as Baton Jugglers and are alright to play occasionally. 9 min.-full st KENNY & HOLLIS: 2 young men. Singing and Talking. Improved since last here. Their material is bright and delivered well. It is a very good three show act. 16 min. in one- MARION & DEANE: Man and woman. In a talking and singing skit. this is not a very brilliant turn. Their voices are not much, especially that of the woman. The man's character work is good and material rather bright, which allows them to pass by. They made good, however, in this place. 14 min. in one- 3 [shows] D'ELMAR BROS: 2 men. One [works straight], the other eccentric, in an acrobatic comedy barrel [???] The comedy is not much, but [???] to good applause. Alright (2) TOBY CLAUDE: Believe this young woman went stronger than ever before. She is rather refined and artistic and the house approved of all her selections, giving quite a good hand at the finish. 17 min. in two- closed in one- 2 shows COL. GASTON BORDEVERY: This man is certainly a wonder. Although he has not played the circuit, description of the act is not necessary, as he is too well known. While he did not get any big applause, I presume he will create some talk. 16 min.-full stage DAVE LEWIS: Man of pleasing personality working in full dress as a German comedian. Resembles Sam Bernard in his work and mannerisms very much. His material is all good and received a big lot of laughs. It is safe to say that he will be a tremendous hit all over the circuit. 14 min. in one 4 LONDONS: Casting act. Greatly improved since last here. They now present a remarkable performance and some of the various feats are certainly marvelous. A great act. 11 min.-full stage KINETOGRAPH: "The Dog Detective" Very good "Rescued in Mid Air" French film. Part copy of the "Welsh Rarebit Fiend" film. Rather fakey, but very interesting and funny
