In 117 PITTSBURG, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE SEPT. 10th, 06 [1906] THE HURLEYS-Time of act 10 minutes. Garden. Three shows. A very good acrobatic act. KATHERINE CALL-Time of act 10 minutes. Olio in one. Imitations. Just about gets away in the three a day section. CROTTY TRIO-Time of act 18 minutes, interior, closing in one. Three shows. Singing and dancing. Neat dressers but very little merit to their act. BETINA-BRUCE & CO-Time of act 17 minutes, interior. Sketch-"Ashes of Adam". While this act gets a number of laughs, I do not think I would care to play it a return. I think Miss Bruce very bad. MONROE & WESLEY-Time of act 18 min. Street in one. Talking and dancing. The straight man in this act I consider very bad-the Irishman a fair comedian. If this act was doing three shows and getting about $100 less, I would consider them fair for the three a day section. WILLY ZIMMERMAN-Time of act 24 minutes, closing 4 min. in one. I consider Mr. Zimmerman a great artist but feel sure if he would burlesque his imitations a little more they would go better with our audience, especially that of Creatore. However, he did very well for us. LUCY & LUCIER-Time of act [16? 18?] minutes, closing 4 minutes in one. (Interior). Singing, dancing and talking. This act went very well for us, the male member of the team being an exceptionally good comedian. EVA MUDGE-Time of act 11 min. Special, closing in one about 3 min. This act is too well known to need much criticism. I think we have played Miss Mudge for the last time unless she gets something new. She did not go well with us during this engagement. HASSAN BEN ALI'S ARABS-Time of act 10 minutes, wood. The best of them all. CHAS. SEMON-Time of act 20 min. Opening in one, then to interior, closing in one four minutes. Went very good with us. SAM ELTON-Time of act 12 minutes. The Crazy Juggler. Mr. Elton went fully as well here during this engagement as he did on his first appearance here. JOHN P. HARRIS.
