3. Phila. FOUR NIGHTONS, poseurs and Athletes:- 11 min. F. S. 2 shows. On at 9:21. An athletic act of rare novelty and interest. The men in flesh tights begin with a series of poses against a dark background and with an effective surrounding up stage. The then come down from their mimic stage and go through a series of feats requiring prodigious strength rather than agility, the act being a little slow and without comedy relief. However, they make such a superb appearance and are such fine specimens of the continentally-trained strong-man that their novel feats get good applause and the close was big. This act will surely make good wherever placed. GEORGE EVANS, "Honey Boy" Monologue:- 22 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 9:32. Big advance applause as before. Got off some new material. Some of his monologue was a repetition of his first weeks offering, but it went very well nevertheless. BORDEVERRY, Fire-arms:- 16 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 9:54. Too well-knows to need any comment except to say that his work was as amazing and interesting as ever. I think that people could see this act many times over and yet marvel at his amazing skill and genius. Think he will draw money to the house on the strength of his name. KINETOGRAPH:- ANYTHING FOR PEACE AND QUIETNESS:- Rather amusing baby series. THE HUNDRED TRICKS:- A rapid French film that holds the interest fairly well. MARBLE INDUSTRY IN CARRARA, ITALY:- Beautiful pictures of a very instructive industry. TWO MISCHIEVOUS BOYS:- Amusing pictures of the conventional "bad boy" variety and a fairly good closer, to the Kinetrograph list. Altogether, the pictures this week were quite up to the standard. GENERAL REMARKS:-This show ran about as we anticipated, judging from reports from other houses, with possible exception,--- LUCY & LUCIER who were a surprise, all the more so because their sketch leads off so unpromisingly. One such a feature would save a bill of a far lower order of general merit. The NIGHTONS being a very interesting, but quiet act, went up the bill to give the more sensational BORDEVERRY feature the closing spot. The papers this morning divide honors between BORDEVERRY, GEORGE EVANS, and LUCY & LUCIER. Good theatre weather, and in spite of heavy opposition this week, business excellent.
