164. PITTSBURG, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE OCT. 29th, 06. DOHERTY'S POODLES- 3 shows. Garden. Time of act 15 minutes. This act is all right in the three a day section. HUGHES & BROWN-Street. 3 shows. 15 min. Singing and talking comedians. Maybe they are. FRANCIS WOOD-3 shows. Comedy hoop rolling act. Time of act 11 min. Very fair act. THREE PERRY SISTERS-3 shows. Interior. 12 min. "The Next Day After" A little sketch introducing singing and dancing. This is not a good act. CARON & HERBERT- 11 minutes. Good. Carrying special drop. I was agreeably surprised in this act, the comedy being very good and the acrobatic work of Herbert being exceptionally strong. The act was a big hit. JOSEPH & BERTHA ADELMAN-Xylophonists. 12 minutes in 2. Very neat dressers who play exceptionally well. I consider it a good act. CAMERON & FLANAGAN-Presenting their comedy-"On & Off". 18 min. Opens in one showing two minstrel men doing song and dance, [strikethrough]] then a litt[[/strikethrough]] and little gagging. Finally they quarrel, then adjourn to the dressing room where they continue their quarrel while washing and dressing for the street. This is a novelty act and went very big with us. While they are not great artists, the idea, I think is on of the best in vaudeville. NORTON & NICHOLSON-18 min. Kithen. In their sketch "Ella's All Right". This act is surely away from all others and went very big with us. BELLONG BROS-Equilibrists. 15 minutes. Garden Most of the work in this act is done on bicycles and is different form any act we have payed. This is their first week in America and their act was not put together as well as it might be. I feel sure that after they have played a few weeks it will be a great act. ALF GRANT-In a monologue assisted by Miss Eithel Hoag. 16 min. Street in one. Mr. Grant went very big with us. ZINGARI TROUPE-Time of act 18 minutes closing in one. 6 minute. This, I consider, a great act, I think among the best singing acts in the business. They also introduce violin solos by Miss Dora Ronca who is above the ordinary. HAWTHORNE & BURT-Hebrew monologue introducing eccentric dancing. 12 min - street. Going only fair with us, the comedian being very good. BERZAC'S CIRCUS With the unridable donkey and the revolving table. A bigger hit than during his first engagement. I think one of the greatest laughing acts in the show business. John P. Harris. [second sheet of paper is fully transcribed on next image]
