166 PITTSBURG, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE OCT. 8th, CS. [CHEFALO?] 34 min. in two. Italiag musician. Does very well to put in time in the supper show. LEE FUNG FOO--Chinese baritone 12 minutes. THis is a novel act and goes well especially his Irish songs. I think he would make good on the early part of any bill. THREE DONALDS Acrobats. 10 min. A very good act of the kind, which went well. LEW HAWKINS- 20 minutes - Street. Black face monologue and parodies. A very good act, among the best monologues we play. GILLETTS DOGS--14 min. Garden. There has not been much change in this act for some time. His leaping dogs are great. Aside from this, the act is cut up too much. I am sure we would not want to play them a return NICHOL SISTERS-14 minutes, olio. Going as well as ever. ROBT. CARTER & CO-"The Wise Mr. Conn". A very rough act which seemed to please. LE BRUN GRAND OPERA TRIO-16 min. OPening in one special drop, closing garden, full stage. A great singing act. They were compelled to take several encores at every performance. JULIAN ROSE-Monologue. 18 minutes, street in one. A big hit with us, this being his first appearance in three years. HOUDINI-"Handcuff King". This is his second week and every one in Pittsburg is talking about him. Sorry to say we were unable to take care of the people who wanted to see him. He is a great and willing worker and has every artist in vaudeville beaten when it comes to figuring out ways to boom business. John P. Harris.
