244 244 Columbus, Ohio, Week Jany. 21st. -1907. --------- W. W. Prosser. Reiff Bros. -- Singing and dancing act -- two men: Both very clever, being excellent dancers. -- The act went very well and received a good substantial recall at the finish. -- It is well dressed, the men make a very good appearance, their work is clean.-- A little to refined and quiet for an opener and undoubtedly would go better further down on the bill. -- All in one. -- 12 minutes. Barrows-Lancaster Co. -- Rural comedy, four people, three men one woman. Pretty story well interpreted. An exceedingly good act of its kind but one that it is difficult to tell whether the audience cared much for. Acts of this class not very popular here. -- Most too quiet. -- Kitchen interior. -- 24 minutes. Mae Belfort: Descriptive vocalist. -- Somewhat away from the usual single woman act, and to her credit, her work meeting with favor. Made good throughout. -- Mice recall at the finish. -- 16 minutes in one. Tom Edwards: -- Ventriloquist: The biggest hit we have had in this line. Works in C. D. F. -- Opens quietly and works somewhat slowly but during latter part of act has the audience with him all the time. -- His work with baby in arms, and child off stage was a hit of the first water and he finished very strong. -- The best seen here for man a day. -- 23 minutes C. D. F. Mayme Remington: An Act too well known to necessitate comment. -- Personally she did not go very strong, but the picks won favor throughout. In one of the dances one of the older picks turns back to audience and does a movement suggestive of "wiggle dance" -- same ordered cut as it did not appeal to audience. -- Not the thing for ladies and children. Have gotten the very best class of people weekly as regular patrons and don't care to take any chances in offending them. -- The act finishes strong. -- Won hearty enchors. -I2 minutes. -- Opens in one, special song in two close in one. Bailey and Austin: -- Two men: eccentric comedians. -- Singing, dancing, and knockabout comedy. -- Very clever pair. - Made a big hit. -- 14 minutes. Peerless Mowatts: 6 young men: The best club juggling act ever seen here. -- A hit from start to finish. -- Palace interior. 8 minutes. A very strong act. Pictures: An Inexperienced Chaffeur: The Poor Tutor: The Alps Through A Telescope.
