2. Report on show, Keith's Theater, Providence, R.I., Week of February 4, 1908. (Has. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The bill is very good indeed; that is the "big" end of it--a little fault might be found with the 3-a-day section, at least some of the acts. Blanchard Bros. Straight musical act which leaves a great deal to be desired. One of the men is a fairly good cornet player and the other gets by on the trombone, two instruments which they work to death, in the act. Decidedly amaterurish flavor. Their own drop in 3, 10 min. 3 shows. Bisset & Miller. One of the men is a very good dancer, the other, fairly good altho a little stiff. In an early spot in the 3-a-day houses, the act gets by all right. 10 min. in 1, 3 shows. Potter & Harris. Young man and woman, ring act. Very good 3-a-day offering. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Fred W. Morton. Harmonica player and paper tearer. Neat little act in the 3-a-day section. Would be better a little bit higher up, altho he gets by decently. 10 min. in 1, 3 shows. The Pelots. Well-known "kid" comedy juggling, which they present this season in a new setting for which they carry their own scenery, partially. They get many laughs, considerable applause at the finish. Very safe and satisfactory little act in the 3-a-day section or early in the 2- a-day houses. 18 min. in 3, close in 1, 3 shows. Wm. Inman & Co. In a much better offering that I judged from other reports that I had. The act is decidedly a copy in many ways of Howard & North's. I don't really understand why the act is billed as "Wm. Inman & Co." for to my mind, the man that does the straight work - to Inman's Irishman, is the better actor of the two. He did very well in this position on the bill. 20 min. in 1, 2 shows. Louise Raffin's Monkeys. In spite of the handicap of losing a couple of her Monkeys by death yesterday, she presented a very good act, nicely dressed. The monkeys do some very good tricks; altho the disrobing trick -- which I have been told is the best thing in the act - was necessarily omitted. I don't think however that anyone need hesitate to play the act in its present condition. 12 min. full stage, 2 shows. Geo. H. Wood. Blackface monologuist. Mr. Wood gave us considerable new material which was well accepted. 20 min. in 1, 2 shows. "Jack the Giant Killer." This act made a decided hit. I am very glad I have it. It has been described before, so that is all that is necessary. 25 min. full stage, 2 shows. Aurie Dagwell. Miss Dagwell sings old colelge songs and old Southern songs, fairly well. I hardly think her voice is as good in quality as when she was doing 2 shows a day for us, but it now possesses more volume, but she has cultivated the sacrifice of tone. She got by nicely in this spot. 12 min. in 1, w shows. HOUDINI. Same as usual. Motion Pictures. O. K.
