43. NEW YORK CRITICISM---MAR. 11th, 1907. CARR & REYNOLDS---Two men in singing and talking act. Fair line of talk that got more applause than usual for this kind of act. Parodies also fair. Three shows. 14 minutes in one. LEONARD & DRAKE---Man and woman in a lot of talk that is only fair. Their song with animal imitations however was very good, and got quite a little laughter and applause. Good three show act. 13 minutes in one. ED ESTUS---Equilibrist. A surprisingly good little act, that at the salary should be working all the time. He got considerable applause, and could stand a better place on the bill. 9 minutes, full stage. MELVILLE & HIGGINS--- Man and woman, both comedy in singing and talking act. One of my Thursday morning trial acts. A really good three show act. The girl is very funny, and made a hit with Geo. Evans Song "When My Ship Comes In". She has some new gags that went very well. Their parodies are good. 15 minutes in one. GARDNER & MADIERN---Rather a silly sketch called "too Many Darlings." Created laughter in spots, but is not a good act by any means. Appreciated only by racing crowd. 26 minutes, full stage. MILT WOOD---Well known dancer. Great act, and got big applause. The hit up to this spot. He is certainly clever. 9 minutes in one. ELECTRIC CRICKETS---Well known on the circuit, and made as good as usual. Miss Seymour and Mr.Cripps were in good voice, and the girls all worked well. The "Con" finish of this act is the main feature, and received several recalls. 18 minutes, full stage. Very short close in one. MARY NORMAN---In "Several Types of Women" assisted by a colored maid. A big hit. I was rather afraid of her at this house, but every one of her studies went to big applause. She is very artistic, and the act is novel here. 18 minutes, full stage. THE FIVE MAJORS---Another novelty here that went big. Five men in English uniform. Good looking fellows with good voices. One of them is a corking good piano player and another knows how to sing a comic song splendidly. This act has all our Quartette acts "Knocked silly," for the men are all good actors. One of them does a good whistling specialty. Closed to big applause. 12 minutes, full stage. Very short close in one. FRED NIBLO--Well known Monologuist who went very well, and got considerable laughter, but I am convinced that this expensive Monologue game is getting raather tiresome to the Audience, and quite a good many people left during this act altho' early. However Niblo went all right, and his appearance and personality carry great weight. 18 minutes in one. MOOLIER SISTERS---Three women in Bar act assisted by man in full dress. One of the women created a small sensation by doing "Stunts" blindfolded. A good quick change is made from the triple to the double bar. The act went very well on account of its being out of the ordinary. 9 minutes, full stage. KINETOGRAPH----The Masters Tea Service. Good and interesting film. Daniel Boone. Interesting. Pioneer Days in America. Splendid film.
