100 UNION SQUARE CRITICISM----WEEK OF APRIL 22ns, 1907. OVERTURE--------"A Night with the Circus" by [Lompe?]. A Great hit. Full of good comedy, and using the Stage hands voices etc. 13 minutes. HALE & CORBIN. Two neat young men in a Banjo act. Above the ordinary three show act, and they get good applause. They certainly can play the Banjo. Good value. 10 minutes in one. THREE DEANE BROTHERS. Hand to hand balancing act. Two straight and one comedy. One of my Thursday morning acts, and they received as much applause as any of the expensive acts. A corking good opener, and the act is a find at the low figure I am paying them. 10 minutes, full stage. SHEPPARD & WARD. Man and woman. Dutch and straight. Usual talking and parody act. Woman fair looking, and only fair voice. Man has a few parodies that went well. Good three show act for the money, although nothing remarkable about it. 18 minutes in one. KENNEDY & WILKINS---An exceptionally good three show act. Two good looking neatly dressed young men in a dancing act that ranks easily with the Ward Bros., and made a distinct hit. Big applause. 10 minutes in one. MAXMILLIAN. The well known Violinist assisted by his sister playing his Piano Accompaniments. This young man is certainly a wonder, and received an ovation after each number. This rather surprised me following so many straight acts, and nearly all men. His execution is marvellous, and selections are good. 13 minutes in 2 1/2. DORAMARTINI. A unique and pretty wire and rope act that received a lot of applause. The young woman is pretty and well dressed, and has a novel effect of a shadow on the back drop during the rope business. Good act. 10 minutes, full stage. NETTA VESTA. Good looking young woman in character songs. She has a very fair voice and good personality. Her selections went very well, and it is a neat little act. 12 minutes in one. highly. Five recalls before final encore. The woman is especially clever. 16 minutes in two. Close in one. COLLINS & HART. Another well known act. The usual big hit, and had the audience screaming. This is certainly the funniest act I have had for some time and will draw money for this house from the hysterical way the audience took it. 15 minutes, full stage. KINETOGRAPH. FAther, Mother wants you. Funny. Herring Fishing. Very interesting and good film. Chasing the Sausage. Very funny. NOTE. Good comedy show that will do just as good business as the more expensive ones I have been getting. Lindsay Morison.
