#2. Phila.- former who received quite an ovation. The "Art Nouveau" finish with the cymbals is certainly very novel. This act will go very strong with our evening audiences. RICE & PREVOST, "Humpty Bumps":- 12 min. F. S. 2 shows. On at 9:23. In spite of the fact that this act has probably more imitators than any others in the business, Rice and Prevost remain the leaders among the fun-makers of the knock-about order. The act has them laughing all through and the close was strong. VESTA VICTORIA, English Comedienne:- 35 min. in 1, 2 and 1. 2 shows. On at 9:35. Little need be said of this act except that Vesta Victoria throughout made good with all parts of the house, from the very start, and there was big applause, at times uproarous. She sang five songs, Made an unqualified hit. Press unstinted in praise and town billed like a circus. METZETTY TROUPE, Acro.:- 10 min. F. S. 2 shows. On at 10:10. This is one of the swiftest and most expert European acts in Vaudeville. There are six men and two women, the latter being a little girl, marvellously trained and working the house up to a high pitch of enthusiasm. The various feats got immediate applause, and closed very strong. An A. A. 1 act for anywhere. KINETOGRAPH:- CREAM EATING COMPETITION:- This is a short film, bit is very amusing and will take the children. CONSTRUCTING A FISHING BOAT:- Interesting French film. HIS FIRST RIDE:- Bicycle comedy series. Very funny. KINETOGRAPH this week is right up to the standard. THE VALADONS, Aerial act:- 12 min. F. S. 3 shows. On at 6:38. Very neat acrobatic act, well costumed and carrying some nice material. The work on the wire was especially well applauded. Altogether a satisfactory three-a-day in every particular. LEE BROTHERS, Singers & Dancers:- 15 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 6:50 Two boys in white costumes doing a ripping good dancing act. Received applause for their new steps. Very satisfactory. GENERAL REMARKS:- Little need be said about this bill. Public and press combine in praising it as absolutely the best Vaudeville show ever presented in Philadelphia. There is not a weak spot and the critics give unstinted praise to the headliner. We are billed to the limit and business A. A. 1 in spite of the fact that we have opposition for the first time in the history of the theatre,--that is, opposition that is supposed to count. Look for continued prosperity, for the bill certainly deserves the highest reward in public recognition. CUTS AND OBJECTIONS:- MELVILLE & HIGGINS:- "Look at the moon", - "no, it's a bald head" FEJ. ----------o---------
