F.H.Brandt. Cleveland, Ohio. Week, July, 7, '07. BYERS & HERMANN "Clown & Skeleton." Two men doing acrobatic pantomime. Clown & Skeleton. Do some of the best contortions I have ever seen. A very good act. 13 Min Full stage EMMA PARTRIDGE. Late soloist if Gilmore's Band. This is a big handsome brunette, who has an unusual god voice, received applause for all her number. 8 Minutes in one. [PETCHING?] BROS. Musical Novelty. Two men, one working straight, the other is a German comedian. These people carry a special set representing a flower garden and use the different flowers as their instruments. They also do some straight musical stuff. A very clever novelty musical act. 16 Min. Fullstage, Close in one, Four Min. doing Comedy and giving imitation of a German band on Cornets. TOBY CLAUDE. Assisted by two men. I do not think the act that Miss Claude is using today is as good nor did it go as well as her old act. She opens in full stage, singing one song which went very flat, and received hardly any applause. Her second song went much better and this is where she uses the two men, one coming in on the first chorus, representing an English Duke and second one coming in as an American on the second chorus of her song. 9 Min. Full stage. She closes in one, singing two songs, one a sequel to "Waiting at the Church." The other a sequel to "I'm Married Now." Both of these songs are very good and really pull her through to fairly good applause 8 Min. HENRY E. DIXEY Assisted by Miss Marie Nordstrom Presenting "David Garrick." This act is well known over the circuit and my opinion is that it is too quiet and refined for a summer audience. He received quite a bit of advance applause, but closed rather weak at finish. Mr. Dixey is or rather was very popular in Cleveland. I sincerely hope he will be the means of drawing in some of his salary. 19 Min. Interior. INTERMISSION. 10 Minutes. MR. HERBERT LLOYD Billed as a decided novelty in comic and skillful juggling. I will agree with the billing in regard to the novelty part, but I did not see him do any of the skillful juggling this afternoon. The only thing he juggled were three balls and then an umbrella, a cannon ball and a piece of paper. The rest of the act consisted of burlesque comedy 12 Min. Full stage. THE BIG CITY FOUR. The best quartette in vaudeville. This is one of the best quartettes we have had here this season, as their singing is refined and clean, and they are not trying to see how much noise they can make. They were the applause hit of Show and had to sing two enchores this afternoon. They have got "The Quartette" beat forty miles. 16 Min. In one. HASSAN BEN ALI'S BEDOUIN ARABS. 10 Men. This act is well known and went very well this afternnon although I think it is not as good as the last troop we played, as they did not show the same rapid fire work the last troop showed. This is not saying it is not a good act for it is, and should make good anywhere. 7 Min. Full stage. Kinetograph
