UNION SQUARE CRITICISM, WEEK OF JULY 8th, 1907. FRANCIS WOOD. Hoop Roller. This fellow does a very good act. His tricks are all very good and works well and it is a nice act to open the show with. Went very well. 11 minutes, full stage. Three shows. HAMILTON AND HOWLETT. Two men, one working straight and the other made up as a rube. This is only a fair act. The only thing is good in the act is their Banjo and Violin Playing. Only went fair. Opens in three and closes in one. 15 minutes. Three shows. SOPHIE EVERETT & CO. This act played here two weeks ago, and on account of an accident she had to close. Over an argument of some kind she was given this week. Went fair. 20 minutes, full stage. Three shows. [CORBLEY?] AND CONLEY. Two men in a talking act. They have very good material, and they managed to get away with it very well. Always a good act for third or fourth on any bill. Went very well. 15 minutes in one. Three shows. SUE SMITH. Singer. This woman has a very beautiful voice, and made quite a hit here this afternoon. She is very pretty, and wears some very beautiful gowns. For the money I am paying her she is one of the best single woman acts I have had for some time. Went big. 12 minutes in one. Two shows. ALMONT AND DUMONT. Man and woman. This is one of the best musical acts I have seen for some time. They are both very good musicians, and it makes a very good entertaining act. The main feature of the act being some bells which Mr. Almont plays. Each tune coming from a different bell. He received several encores on this. It is an act I will be glad to have any time. Went big. 16 minutes, full stage and close in one. ZISKA AND KING. A Burlesque Magic Act. This act always makes good. There is plenty of comedy which keeps the audience amused all the time. The act as it is now, I like just as well as Martine and Maxmillian, and it is much cheaper. Went very well. 20 minutes, full stage and close in one. [Text is covered by a page lying over it; text continues below the overleaf:] FOUR RIANOS. This is a very good acrobatic act. It has played here before, and always made good. This is a very good act to close the show with. Went very well. 13 minutes, full stage. KINETOGRAPH. A Jealous Woman. Very interesting. On the Stage. Funny. NOTE. Altogether the show this week is a very good one. Plenty of good comedy, good singing and dancing and good music. The only fall down being Rosebud and Bruno. Considering this was a very hot weather the show went very well. The attendance was fair. Reed Albee,
