(3) Edward's 4-Footed Actors. On at 5.30, 13 min, full stage. This is the try-out of Gillett's new act, something on the style of Barnold's. It is a pleasure for me to state that I think Gillett has the making of a funnier act than Barnold's. He has many more incidents in it of a humorous nature and when it gets running smoothly it will be a corker. He has three drunks in the act instead of the one. It is my belief that in time this act will be as acceptable to the public as Barnold's, although of course the showman will always consider Barnold's act The one. Stereopticon. On at 5.43, 10 min. Showing views of Old Cairo. Santy. On at 5.53, 10 min, full stage; 3 shows. This is Eldridge, the sand picture man, who is masquerading this week because of legal trouble. This is another extremely valuable act at the price. He would make good in any of the smaller houses as late as 9 o'clock and would create a lot of talk. He is worthy of a season's work at eighty, or even a hundred dollars. Comment. An excellent show from almost all point of view and one that seemed to please this afternoon's audience immensely. Cuts:- Joe Cook & Bro. Mock prayer. Use of word "Curse" or "Cuss". Makarenkos Duo. Asked to cut their first song, as it made their act a little draggy. Bert Leslie & Co. One "Damn".
