TEMPLE THEATRE, DETROIT, MICH. Week, May 4th, 1908. Marseilles. presenting an act, a study in black and white, Appears in white tights, with black background, Good little contortion act. Does good for an opener. Time 7 min. Full stage. Mayme Remington and Her Picks. Brings some new songs and always manages to please. 14 min. in one. Lewis and Green. Comedy singing act. Just fair comedy act. Be good about No. 2 on the bill. Open in one 7 min. Their own drop in three, six minutes. Close in one 7 min. The Gainsboro Girl. Very pretty and novel singing act. It is presented with a gauze frame effect. Very pretty scenery and lighting effects. Marie Brackman possessing a good strong soprano voice and knows how to use it. The act was a decided hit on the bill. 19 min. full stage. Laddie Cliff. English boy comedian and grotesque dancer. Very clever little artist and made good at both performances. Time 17 min. in one. James F. Dolan and Ida Lenharr. presenting their old act "The high-toned Burglar" I cannot say that this act improves with age. They get some laughs during the sketch, but the climax is bad. Finished both shows yesterday without a curtain. Fancy in three, 28 minutes. Emma Carus. She is in very good voice and makes good appearance. While her selection of songs are not of the best, still she is greatly handicapped by following the "Gainsboro Girl". 12 min. in one. The Three Yoscarrys. Comedy acrobats, presenting the same act they have presented here before. Makes a good closing act. 9 min. full stage. Kinetograph. Very good pictures showing life on English Reform Ship.
