Report on Columbus Show, Week August 31st. -08. [W?]. W. Prosser. BERNIER & STELLA: Man and woman in a singing and dancing act Both make a very nice appearance and they work every minute. The man is a singer who manages to catch on all right and the woman does some dancing that seemed to be well liked. A hard spot for an act of this style and they got by very nicely and were satisfactory. 1o minutes Olio in one. BIMM, BOMM, BRRR: Well known and standard act that made a hit with their various musical selections. Their work is finished and clean and well executed. -- They had the audience with them from the first and did not rely on any sensational or ear splitting effects to gain the desired result. -- Would consider this act eminently satisfactory. 15 minutes Palace in 4. Ed F. [Reynard?]: The ventriloquist who does an excellent act. Carries quite an elaborate set which makes the act look like a production. -- As to his work it is all that could be wished for. None of his points missed fire and he finished big. Special in 4. -- 16 minutes. HARRY BREEN: The song writer with a lot of lightening like singing material of the comic and topical order. -- Here is another worker, a fellow who just comes out with the idea of making things come his way and he succeeded beyond question. He is different in style from the usual act of this nature and he pleased all the time he was on the stage. 14 minutes street in one. MELVILLE STOLTZS LITTLE PLAYERS: "Kiddieland." A musical offering intrepreted by six clever children who sing and dance and generally please. The idea is that achild visits Kiddieland in a dream and there is entertained and entertains with singing dancing etc. -- There is a mere thread on which the Musical Numbers are hung. -- Fairly good from the production standpoint but almost wholly dependent on the ability of the participants, which fortunately is not lacking. -- Bothe the individual and endemble work was favorably received and a hurrah finish topped the act off nicely and it must be recorded as a success. 30 special set. EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR: The hit of the bill this afternoon. They sing as well as ever and their comedy brought forth screams of laughter. -- They certainly gave the bill a big lift. 16 minutes Street. OLYMPHIA DESVAL: Equestrian and dog act that made quite a goog impression but was not a decided hit. -- The work of the horses dogs and the man in the act is about all there is to it, the woman doing little or nothing except to make an appearance 2. which be it noted to her credit she does admirably being a large striking and well dressed woman. -- The act finished the show very well and was not by any means bad. Garden 14 minutes. PICTURES: O. K. Note: This in its entirety makes a very good show and one that should please but the weather has turned out very hot again and we may have to fight against this condition.
