REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF NOVEMBER 23, 1908. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. A show that is quite satisfactory, but hardly up to those of the last two weeks. But containing as it does a lot of holiday material, it should draw business for us. Deery & Francis Man and woman, talking and singing. Will pass muster in an unimportant spot. 12 Min. in one, 2 shows. Lightning Hopper Cartoonist. A clever chap who is alright for an early spot in anay house. 12 Min. in Two. [3?] shows. Devere & Greenwood A young man and girl in juvenile impersonations, chiefly singing. Fair little act that might get by as number two in the smaller houses. 16 Min. in One, shows.3 Fred [Dupres?] Parody-singer with a few stories. This chap has a good personality and got away with some good material in clever stye. 15 Min. in One, 3 shows. Marshall & King If these two young women were equally good, it would be a corking act. One of them is as good a [gretesque?] and tow dancer as I have seen in many a day. The other simply gets bye. As a whole, it is a fair act. 9 Min. in Two, 2 shows. Should be 3 shows. Roberti's Animals At the price, this is great value. A very interesting act, with bears, ponies, dogs and a monkey. 14 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Gavin, Platt & Peaches Man, woman and dog. Another excellent act for the money In the early two-a-day spot in the big houses, very good Also number four or five in the smaller houses. 20 Min. in 1 1/2, closing in One. [2?] shows. Special scene. Chassine The master shadowgraphist -- and and feet. No other compares with him, even approximately., 12 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Cunningham & Marion Acrobatic comedians. Here was a real surprise. The comedy in this act is quite good, the comedian also doing a number of very funny falls, and the straight man does some of the best tumbling I ever saw, introducing a number of new tricks. They made quite a hit. An act of value that should be booked, especially at the salary. 14 Min. in One. 2 shows. La Petite Revue This act has been reviewed sufficiently to require no comment from me. You may take your choice of the various reports that come in in its favor or the ones from Portland last week. My personal impression is that Portland doesn't know a good act when it sees it. [25?] Min. F. S. two shows. MR. Fred Lindsay Australian Whip Wonder. A great novelty that creates lots of comment and applause and is sure to draw money. 15 Min. opening in One, closing F. S.2 shows. [Ceiger?] & Walters...This act made quite a hit as usual, though personally I don't know why. Suffice it is that it does, and that is all that is necessary in any act. Karno's "A Night In A Music Hall" For this holiday week, I think that the act will have some value to me, though it set no one crazy this afternoon. I certainly would not want to play it again. 20 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Motion Pictures. O.K.
