They certainly worked up our audience to a high pitch of enthusiasm such as I never saw in a vaudeville house for a musical act. They seemed loathe to let the Cuttys go today. They will help draw business. KITAMURA JAPS. 21 min. F. S. The magnificent picture which this act makes when the curtain goes up wins a big hand, as it well deserves. The costuming, the embroidered rug and gorgeous drop would make a sensation anywhere. The work of these men with the high poles, barrels, blocks, etc., and balancing paraphernalia is too well known to need comment, except to say that it all went big. Perhaps most of all the comedy blunders that are introduced so skilfully do not seem faked. Laughter and applause throughout. As a closing feature for any bill, this act is pretty nearly ideal. Everything taken into consideration, setting, costuming and the work done on the stage, this is unquestionably the greatest act ever seen on any vaudeville stage in America. KINETOGRAPH. IRON MASK. A high amusing comedy film, and is a good laugh-getter. CULTURE OF RICE. An interesting Japanese travel film. GIBNEY & EARLE. "The Purple Inn." This sketch did not make very much of an impression. The idea is very slender and somewhat hackneyed and the presentation of it was not particularly effective. Small hand at the finish. 14 min. F. S. KATHARINE BARTLETT. Vocalist. 13 min. in one. Rather a pretty girl with a fair singing voice. Three changes of costume and a good selection of songs. A very acceptable three-a-day act. LIEUT. ROBT. ELDRIDGE. 10 min. in 1 1/2. Second appearance of this man on our stage. Silful and interesting lot of work with colored sands, winding up with a fire picture which wins the applause. A good three-a-day novelty. GENERAL REMARKS. This is certainly one big bill all right, and the public went away very enthusiastic over it. Tanguay's popularity here is assured, the Cuttys were an immense hit, as was also Laddie Cliff. There was not a weak spot in the show, and it played off very smoothly. We look for a big Thanksgiving Holiday week.
