GRAND OPERA HOUSE, PITTSBURG, PA., NOV. 9th, 08. GRAHAN & LAWRENCE-9 minutes in one. Two men-wooden shoe dancing. Doing the same as the rest and no better than the average. MCCONNELL & SIMPSON-21 minutes, interior. An exceptionally good sketch, well acted, especially by Miss McConnell. Very sorry we had to sacrifice it by putting it on early. Would be an immense hit in the middle of any bill. FELIX ADLER-10 minutes in one. Dialectician. Hardly an act for a refined audience. His work is good but mannerism and appearance decidedly coarse and amateurish. FRED LINDSAY-Australian Whip Wonder. 15 minutes, opening 4 minutes in one with descriptive talk by his manager. A novelty with some drawing power. The act is well handled and decidedly effective. MISS IDA O'DAY-10 minutes in one. Makes a hit with her banjo playing but forget her singing. BERNARDI- 24 minutes, interior. Italian quick change artist. Making a big hit here but in my opinion would be much better if his act was shortened about five minutes. SIDNEY GRANT-14 minutes in one. Doing very well this time but not worth anything near $300. AT THE COUNTRY CLUB- 30 minutes, full stage, special. Lasky's best act. The numbers are all good and the act contains some novelty. It is an act of class and is a decided hit. HOEY & LEE-16 minutes in one. Going very well in a hard spot. KREMKA BROS- 8 minutes, full stage. One of the best acrobatic acts for two men we have ever played. HELFIE & ORMOND- 3 shows, 14 minutes in 2. A very slow act of singing and harp playing. Just gets by in the three a days. John P. Harris.
