GRAND OPERA HOUSE, PITTSBURG, PA., Nov. 23d, 08. THE PICQUAYS- Hand balancers. 10 minutes, full stage. A very good act. DILLON BROS.- 15 minutes in one. There is a new Dillon Brother in the act and they are not going so well as formerly. LULU BEESON TRIO- 14 minutes, full stage, special, closing in one. An ordinary singing and dancing act. The light effects and scenery help it some but it is hardly worth $300. WARD & CURRAN - 24 minutes. Opening full stage, closing in one. They are going very big. SIG. EL COTA- 16 minutes in one. The best single Xylophone act we have ever played. He is doing extremely well. VIRGINIA HARNED & CO. 21 minutes, full stage. An extremely disagreeable incompetent actress whose name is not worth anywhere near the salary she gets. The sketch is on a hackneyed theme, being somewhat suggestive of David Garrick. The lady in the act is very good; the man does not realize the possibilities of the part, either in appearance or acting. The sketch is well written and gets many laughs. JAS. THORNTON- 20 minutes in one. Doing the same thing in the same way but not accepted by the audience. Mr. Thornton was unable to appear after the Thursday matinee, owing to the usual failing. JOS. MAXWELL & CO.- 19 minutes, full stage, closing in one. "A Night in a Police Station". The close in one goes extremely well. Sorry to say the opening of the act does not repeat with success. HERR GRAIS & BABOONS- 12 minutes, full stage. A great act, well staged, and a decided hit John P. Harris.
