REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF DECEMBER 28th, 1908 Charles Lovenberg, Mgr. The show in its entirety is quite pleasing, altho a couple of the earlier acts are pretty weak. The only fault to be found is with the lack of new material. Margaret Arnold Character songs. I'd like to do something to the man who recommended this act. Pretty near the worst we ever had. 10 Min. 3 shows. in one. Evans, Enits & Evans Formerly known as the Evans Trio. A little three-a-day and in the continuous houses, but hardly strong enough for second here. 17 Min Open F.S. close in one 3 shows. Reese Bros. Two colored men in a Hodge-podge of acrobatics, [illegible] juggling, singing and comedy, very little dancing. A good little act in its class. 12 Min. in Two, 3 shows. Ry Greenway Comedy juggler and cartoonist. Another little act that satisfied in it way. 14 Min. open in Two, can close in One. 2 shows. Clark & Bergman well-known little act which pleased first rate in this spot. Would not want to recommend them for anything later than 8.15 in the best houses. 14 Min. in One, 2 shows. France Piper excellent banjoist, both in straight work, and banjo juggling. A decided hit here this afternoon. 15 Min. Open F.S. close in One. He told me this morning that if necessary he would do his entire act in one. The Josettis well-known acrobatic act which scored as usual. 12 Min. F.S. 2 shows. Cameron & Flanagan Another standard act which made its usual hit. 19 Min. Open in One, close F.S. The Lubakans and their dog Two men in acrobatic comedy, with the best little dog, a tiny black-and-tan, that I have seen in a good while with these people now doing their entire act in one, ita makes a valuable addition to turns of this class and their bookings should be plentiful. 8 Min. in One, 2 shows. Julius Steger & Co. In the "Fifth Commandment" which was a decided hit. 25 Min. F.S. 2 shows. The McNaughtons First time here for these men and they were received with marked approval. 25 Minutes of incessant laughter Open in One, close in two. 2 shows. The Boys in Blue Thrilling drill and wall-scaling act which also scored. 12 Min. F.S. 2 shows. Geo. B. Reno & Co. Following the Boys in Blue this act was well received. On its merits alone I wouldn't care to play the act, which to my mind has little to recommend it. 18 Min. open in Two, close F.S. 2 shows Motion Pictures. O.K. 4
