REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF JANUARY 4th, 1908. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. A good live show that was a succession of hits and which I think will draw us money. Cooper Colored ventriloquist. Barber shop scene. A very good idea not especially well carried out but which seemed to please. 12 Min. in F. S. close 3 in One. 3 shows. Smith & Smythe Two young men with fairly good voices who sing a succession of popular airs, medleys, et cetera. Alright for number two in the smaller cities. 13 Min. in One, 3 shows. Sid Baxter Wire walker. Very good value for the money, especially as he is now doing his entire act in one and a half. 10 Min. 3 shows. Ruby Raymond & Co. This is a far better act than I expected and went exceedingly well with the audience. Miss Raymond wears some very handsome costumes and my only regret is that I cannot give them a better place on the bill. 14 Min. in One. 2 shows. "The Buccaneers" A local act which I think will interest only this city. Fred Sossman Dialect songs. Made good thoroughly. 13 Min. in One. 2 shows. Sullivan & Pasquelena In "A C.C.D. Package". This act was a distinct surprise and made a quite a hit. Plenty of laughter and applause. 25 Min. open and close in One. 2 shows. Emilie Rose A very pretty young woman with two clever dogs in a splendid act of posturing, foot juggling and acrobatics 12 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Bessie Wynn This charming young lady repeated her success of last season, only mere so. One of the hits of the bill. 21 Min. in One. And the audience wanted more. 2 shows. Maurice Freeman & Co. Dramatic sketch, "Tony and the Stork". Mr. Freeman played the character of a young Italian. This should be ranked among the best sketches of its kind that we have played. Excellently acted by Mr. Freeman and his company. It is the headliner this week and is satisfying thoroughly in that position. 18 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Howard & North In the new act, fully equal to their old and just as big a hit. 21 Min. in One and a half. 2 shows. The Colden Makarenka Troupe Russian singers and dancer. Most excellent closing feature for a splendid bill. Almost as lively a closing number as the Arab acrobats. A distinct hit. 17 Min. F. S. Could open in One. 2 shows. Motion Pictures O.K. Sophie Everette & Co. Fair little sketch that would probably go better if I could give her a decent place on the bill. 18 Min. F. S. 3 shows. 8
