Report on Columbus show week January 18, 1909. W. W. Prosser. NORTON-JEWELL TROUPE: 4 men 1 woman, in a military club juggling act. The work is all well done and they scored nicely from beginning to end. They were compelled to close in one, which I believe injured them to some extent, but nevertheless they got away fine and were particularly good for an opener. Palace in 4, close in 1, 11 minutes. EMIL HOCH & CO.: 3 men, 1 woman, in a comedy dramatic sketch, "Love's Young Dream". The story is very simple but well told, and there were a number of good comedy points scored. Not a great act but acceptable for the two spot. Finished fairly well. Center Door Fancy, in 3. 19 minutes. AL LAWRENCE: Well known monologist. Went well from beginning to end. Finished strong. No fault to find. 17 minutes, oleo, in 1. THE ADELMAN QUARTET: 3 women, 1 man. Open special set in 3, close in one. All of the work seemed to make a favorable impression. The act is O. K. except that the dress of the woman is not what it should be, their clothes indicating wear and tear and not particularly clean. 20 minutes. RUSSELL BROS.: This well known team portrayed the servant girls of old and did so to the satisfaction of every one apparently. The young woman in the act who does the ballet dance is especially clever and makes a very pretty appearance from the front. I believe the act will turn out to be a thorough winner before the week is over. IRENE FRANKLIN & BURT GREEN: Miss Franklin suffering with a bad cold is somewhat handicapped here, nevertheless she had no trouble in being the hit on the bill. An unusually capable artist and one that should create a lot of favorable comment before the end of her engagement here. Burt Green assisted her ably at the piano. 16 minutes, Center door fancy, 2 1/2. THE BONESSETTI TROUPE: 5 men, 1 women, in a cracker-jack acrobatic offering. They have a routine of stuff, a good deal of which is new here and all of which went well from beginning to end. The act finished strong. Garden in 5, 14 minutes. MOVING PICTURES: O. K.
