Report on Columbus Show for week of January 25th, 1909. SELBINI & GROVINI: Man and woman in an acrobatic juggling and bicycle act, which is very novel and full of excellent work. The act was well received throughout and finished strong. 9 minutes, garden in 5. ED MORTON: Singer of comic songs. He made a fairly good impression and that is all. Just a fair act. 13 minutes, street in 1. MIDGLEY & CARLISLE: Well known act which fared better this afternoon than it did when we played it last season. There were a lot of laughs scattered throughout and the finish was good. 24 minutes, wood in 4. ANDERSON & GOINES: Two colored men in a singing and talking act that made a very favorable impression throughout. They won a lot of laughs and up to this point were the hit of the bill. 18 minutes, special in 1. S. MILLER KENT:& COMPANY: Comedy sketch, "Marriage In A Motor Car". The act seemed to hold the attention of the audience and got by very well. Nothing particularly strong about it yet it could hardly be termed a poor offering. Work of Kent is O. K. and his support acceptable. Would term this a fair sketch. C. D. F., 15 minutes. JAMES THORNTON: He was a big laugh during entire time he talked. Made one point after another in most emphatic manner. The act apparently was a big success, although the finish with his medley of songs was not as strong as we looked for, judging from the way his monologue is received. However, no possible fault to find. 25 minutes, oleo in 1. HERR GRAIS' BABOONS: A most unusual trained animal act and one that made a bit hit. Nothing in the way of an animal offering superior to this has ever been seen here. I believe the act will be a good one to create talk. MOVING PICTURES: O. K.
