-2- Bert Levy. On at 3.30, 18 minutes full stage. Another distinct hit. Levy is certainly a great entertainer. This afternoon's audience was loath to let him go. Alice Lloyd. On at 3.57, 30 minutes in one. This is a return date for Miss Lloyd this season and I have my doubts as to whether or not it was wise to book her. However, I do not think it just to make a guess at this, for the week's business will tell the true story. She was warmly greeted and went extremely well, although she did not start a riot. The Bounding Gordons. On at 4.27, 10 minutes full stage. About 12 o'clock to-day I got word that one of the boys was in bad shape and it was doubtful whether he could work or not. I talked the matter over with them and they decided they would go on this afternoon and evening to help us out as I had no other act to close with without entirely upsetting the show, by asking Mullen and Corelli to work in full stage. Of course, when in shape the Gordon act is one of vaudeville's greatest acrobatic turns, but when only two of them are working and their routines are entirely broken up it is unfair to pass judgement. However, under the circumstances they did remarkably well, and deserve credit for trying to oblige. The Four Baltus take this place to-morrow afternoon. Kinetograph. On at 4.37. "The Saleslady's Matinee Idol" A fairly good picture. "Wonderfull Eggs"--A very pleasing colored picture. Burgos and Clara. On at 5.05, 9 minutes full stage. A novelty act that is good enough to open almost any show and should make an acceptable closer in the small towns. They do some clever lariat work and some novel wire stunts. The act needs better dressing. Sheppard and Ward. On at 5.14, 13 minutes in one. Man and woman in talk and parodies. O. K. for the 3 show section and at No. 2 in the smaller cities. Comment. If we had a good comedy sketch in place of "The Patriot" this show would be much stronger. Every act in it can be marked a hit, excepting the opera, but the peculiar make-up of the show seems to make it almost impossible to make a really satisfactory re-arrangement and get all the meat out of it.
