KEITH'S HIPPODROME. Cleveland, Ohio. Ned S. Hastings. April 26th, 1909. BELLE GORDON. F.S. with bag apparatus. Close in 1. Time 11. Attractive woman in lively and skillful bag punching act. Considerable applause. Very good act. MIDGELY & CARLISLE. Man & woman. Open F.S., close in 1. Time 25. Midgely is doing the same lazy country kid work with Miss Carlisle as a little girl foil. The act is entirely too long in my judgment for the material. Their singing is a little flat and the comedy dreary in places. Went fairly well at times. [CORNALLA?] & EDDIE. 2 men, F.S. special. Time 13. One grotesque clown. Tumbling and juggling. This is one of the best and funniest acts I have ever seen. The eccentric tumbling and falls are immense and bring shouts of genuine laughter throughout. One of the big hits of the bill. Full of novel work. 6 MINUTE WAIT. ETIENNE GIRARDOT & CO. C.D.F. 3 men, 1 woman. Time 21. Presenting "A Game of Cars." This is an interesting little play, in the main original with considerable good comedy. It is well acted, with the exception of the juvenile man who is an apparent amateur and whose work brings a good many unconscious smiles. Girardot, himself, is excellent. JOHN McCLOSKEY. In 1. time 10. Here is a genuinely good tenor. His voice is almost faultless. He scored strongly with a pleasing repertory. HARRY BULGER & CO. 6 men, 1 woman. Special elaborate set. Offering, "He Was A soldier, Too" Tim 24. This is the first musical comedy tabloid that I have ever seen that is in every way acceptible and good. Bulger adapts himself to vaudeville excellently. His lines and situations are all very funny and capitally handled. One song of his is a scream throughout. Henriette Byron is magnetic and puts over two very good songs. A sure fire hit on any bill. CARTER & BLUFORD. Man & woman (negroes, light coffee color.) Time 15. In 1, in 2 special, in 1, in 2 another special drop. First as "swell society", 2nd as Spanish serenade, 3rd a rube [illegible] The work is neat, clean and very high class. CASTELLANE & BRO. 2 men. Time 9. Bicycle acrobats and balancers. Fair. Their finish of a double somersault in which both participate is a sensation.
