Augusta Glose. On at 3.05, 18 minutes in one. Here is a woman who can make the patrons of the vaudeville theatres forget they ever saw or heard of Willa Holt Wakefield. If they do think of Wakefield it will be simply to compare her with Glose and I firmly believe to Glose's advantage, as I have already said. She had about as tough a proposition before her to-day as I have ever seen in this house, a combination of hot weather, a light attendance and an extremely lethargic audience, but she conquered all those obstacles and was one genuine great big hit. I feel it will be a sad mistake if Miss Glose is not immediately booked and routed for next season. Eva Taylor & Company. On at 3.23, 28 minutes full stage. Playing "Chums," one of the best farces we have ever had in vaudeville. Miss Taylor is an old stock favorite in Boston and the sketch is particularly suited to this time of year, so all in all the act can be accounted a thoroughly satisfactory offering. Ralph C. Herz. On at 3.51, 23 minutes in one. One of the cleverest entertainers in vaudeville to-day and a most valuable act in one. Would that we could get him during the regular season for I am confident that he would make a real drawing card. Tschernoff's Animals. On at 4.14, 20 minutes full stage. Special set. One of the best animal acts I have ever seen. It includes a number of novelties and is put on in a most showmanlike manner, moving smoothly and at a fast pace, there being something doing on the stage every second. Would like very much to play the act again next season, but I understand Tschernoff sailes for Europe next week. Kinetograph. "A Trip to the Wonderland of America--Yellowstone Park."--One of the best films of the season. Should interest any audience. Cuts-- Mack and Phelps--Expression "I Love My Wife." Ralph C. Herz--Reference to "Mother-in-law." Comment. A crack-a-jack show, one that would be a "riot" in the regular season, and not very expensive at that. The places of the Hillman Trio and Eva Taylor were changed at night.
