PITTSBURG, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE. AUGUST 9th, 09. JUPITER BROS-"Original Oklahoma Cowboy Wizards". Full stage, 15 min. I consider this a very ordinary act and would not think of putting it any place except opening the bill. $50.00 less would be a very good price. HILDA HAWTHORNE- "Singing and Ventriloquial Act". Olio in one 13 min. Miss Hawthorne's monologue with her figure is not good. Her singing is very good. The act in number two position was really a hit. CHARLES & FANNIE VAN- In "A Case of Emergency". 13 min. in one. Personally, I think this is a bad act. However, the audience seemed to like it. I feel sure it would not do for a return. LA TITCOMB-"Singer on Horseback". 19 min., full stage, special black drops. A beautiful act, well costumed. Made very good for us and caused considerable talk but at least $250 over paid. KINNEY, MCGAHAN & PLATT- "The Deaf & Dumb Manager". 17 minutes, Street in one. A good singing act with fair comedy. Went well. PORTER J. WHITE & Co.- In "THE VISITOR". 22 min., full stage, interior. A very good sketch, very well played. TROVOTA-"Filipino Virtuso" Olio in one. 20 min. This man is a very clever violinist. His eccentric work made him one of the hits of our bill. I am sure he would be a good act to play a repeat. CECIL LEAN & FLORENCE HOLBROOK-"Just as they Are". Full stage, interior, closing in one 2 minutes. One of the best singing and talking acts we have ever played. Mr. Leon was a big hit at every performance. ARTOIS BROS.- 10 minutes, full stage, garden. Clown & Horizontal Bar performance. There is a new man in the act and I feel sure that the change is not for the best. The comedy is not nearly so good. This, however, may be remedied with a little work. John P. Harris. GRAND OPERA HOUSE, PITTSBURG-CUTS AUGUST 9th, 09. HILDA HAWTHORNE- 13 kids and joke about the hose. KENNEY, MCGAHAN & PLATT-The germ joke. ARTOIS BROS.-Kick and slap on the seat. LEAN & HOLBROOK-Salome and Salome bear in Gertrude Hoffman's dance.
