Bijou Theatre, Woonsocket, R.I. Monday, August 30, 1909. Matinee. Business, big. Weather Cool and fair 1---Overture. 5 Min. 2---Reel No. 1. Comedy Reel. 17 min. 3---Reel No. 2. Dramatic Reel. 15 min. 4---THE MARSHALLS. Man and woman, colored. Good wardrobe on the lady's part. Man in eccentric costume. Lady good singer, and both fair dancers. Man's monologue gets by. Man plays piano acceptably. Went well. Work in 2, close in one. 14 min. 5---ELSIE ROSE. violinist. Prepossessing in appearance and work is artistic. Selections include classical and one popular number with vocal number which is very prettily done. Works in one. 9 min. 6---LISLE LEIGH & CO. New sketch "The Mayoress". Deals with the suffrage question in pleasing satire. Act rather dragged today (first showing) but should go well when pruned. Company adequate. Four people. One man (whose role is rather the strongest in the sketch) and three women. Well staked. Center Door Fancy in 3. 27 min. 7---GERTIE DeMILT & BOYS. Good singing and dancing act by three people. Well dressed. One solo by one of the boys not quite up to the mark, the act depending on its dancing which goes big. Work in one. 14 min. 8---SCANLON & BARRETT. Acrobatic act by two men. Good comedy act, both men being clever acrobats. Introduce some good barrel jumping. Work in full stage, and went well. 17 min. 9---Reel No. 3. Dramatic reel. 16 min. REPORT OF BALTIMORE SHOW= MARYLAND THEATRE. WEEK OF MONDAY. SEPT. 13TH. 1909 BURNS & FULTON= Only a fair Dancing act. 11 Minutes. WORK & OWER = Splendid fast Act, Comedy acrobats, 6 Minutes. [EXPOSITION?] 4 = The Same Good Act, 18 Minutes. Keane & Briscoe,=in "The Trial Marriage". A rattling good sketch that pleased all and made a decided hit. 17 minutes, Full Stage. James [Brockmarr?]= Pianologue" Fairly good act. 16 Minutes. Famous [Josselynn?]= Aerial Statuary. A great act, which attracts lot of attention. 11 Minutes. Nellie Waring = First time here. English Comedienne and very clever girl. Made a big hit and continued encore calls. Sings four good songs. 18 Minutes. "Kris Kringles Dream = A great big novel act, which went fine and pleased everybody. 22 Minutes. Kinetograph= A Day in Benares. Very Good subject.
