Cleveland, Ohio. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Sept 20 1909. Ned Hastings. ADELINA ROATTINO and CLARA STEVENS. Time 18. 3 songs F.S with special set for one. Close in 1. Two pretty, refined and talented girls in a dainty protean act. Three of their numbers are big hits. CARON & FARNUM. F.S. woods. Time 9. 2 men. Excellent tumblers and jumpers. They do a number of startling twists in narrow bounds. Big hit. BROWN, HARRIS & BROWN. In 1. Time 24. 2 men, 1 woman. An odd combination of very good and very poor material. Part of the comedy and all the singing is first class. Part of the comedy is way below par. They are evidently trying to do too much time for the material at hand. IMPERIAL MUSICIANS. Open F.S. special close in 1. 4 girls, 8 men. The best Lasky act since the Pianophiends. There is a military flavor about the music in the first part which is chiefly in brass and done with dash and effect, a fine regard for the ear-drums of the audience being pleasantly maintained. The wind up is a truly funny descriptive piece in which the entire company joins in playing everything from dish pans to violins. A big hit. RASCHETTA TRIO. 3 men. In 1. Time 11. Their first appearance is so unconsciously awkward that they got a good many laughs without working for them. However when they got to work, they do some very difficult, clever and skillful barrel jumps, chiefly with the jumpers blindfolded. FLYING MARTINS. 2 men, F.S. special black plush panorama. The best double trapeze act in the business. Time 6. SILBON'S ANIMALS. Time 13. F.S. exterior. 2 men, 1 woman, 3 cats, 1 pony, 1 dog. The act is distinctive in the remarkable antics of the three cats. They are trained better than the best dogs I have ever seen. There is a good vein of humor throughout and the act generally is a decided novelty. LILLIAN SHAW. In 1. Time 20. The individual hit of the show. Unfortunately Miss Shaw still clings to songs that are a bit suggestive although her frank and wholesome manner of presenting them diverts the attention from the subject matter of the songs to her engaging personality. Nevertheless I heard considerable adverse comment against her songs after the show, although her personal cleverness is highly admired here. PRINCESS RAJAH. Same as last week.
