REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW FOR WEEK SEPT. 13, 1909. W. W. PROSSER. 5 MUSICAL MACLARES: Five young people in a potpourri of instrumental music, singing and dancing, all the work in Scotch costume. Several offerings by this organization were well received and they finished very well. 14 minutes, fancy interior in 3. GRACIE [EMMETT?] & CO.: This well known Irish comedienne presented her hilarious farce, "Mrs. Murphy's Second Husband". It was a riot almost from beginning to end and as a comedy act it would be hard to find anything better. 21 minutes, center door fancy in 3. WILSON BROS.: German singing comedians, one straight, one comedy. These boys made a terrific hit and went big all the way through. They took any number of bows and the audience would hardly let them off the stage. They must be given credit for achieving an emphatic and decided success. 17 minutes, street in one. HOMER LIND & CO.: In the "Opera Singer". This well known offering by an equally well known artist was a very solid success. His songs went particularly big and he and his company gained the unqualified attention of the audience throughout the piece. There were a generous number of laughs distributed throughout the act and at the finish while the demonstration was not big it seemed to be sincere, and there is no question but that Lind and his playlet fairly made good. 22 minutes, opens in full stage, close in one. Opens in kitchen interior in 3. SYDNEY DEANS & CO. In "Xmas on the Island": This well known act made a very favorable impression and finished fairly well. The work of the four singers was well done. Special set in 1, 19 minutes. KITABANZAI JAPS: This troupe of Oriental performers scored an unmistakable success. Their work was well received and they finished excellently. Open in one, go to special in 3, and close in 1. ANNETTE KELLERMANN: Opened in one with her diabolo exhibition. Received a very favorable acknowledgment upon her appearance on the stage. Fairly good applause at the finish of her diabolo work. Finsihed with her diving act and was liberally applauded for several of her dives, some of the others seeming to gain rapt attention but not bringing forth any demonstration. There was good solid applause at the finish. She will undoubtedly draw them in during the week. 8 min., opened in 1, special set in 4. MOVING PICTURES: O. K.
