Keith's Hippodrome. Cleveland, Ohio. Oct 11th 1909 Ned S. Hastings. HOPPER American cartoonist. Quick, bright and entertaining. 8 minutes in 1. WATERBURY BROS & TENNEY. Comedy musicians. 3 men. Time 21 Open in 1, then C.D.F., close in 1. The act is somewhat new in places with many of the best old features. Received generous applause. WORMWOOD'S DOGS AND MONKEYS. Time 20. Many new and clever tricks. The monkey "scrap" and the finale bicycle race scored big hands. One of the best animal acts of the season. SISTERS DOLLY. In 1. Time 12. The act might do for an opener, but it was a failure in this spot. Their singing and dancing in only fair at best. BERT FRENCH & ALICE RIS. "The Vampire Dance." In 3 with black set. Time 10. A pantomime dance suggested by Rudyard Kipling's well known poem. Certainly a novelty. It is weird and fascinating in conception, but the execution is not particularily artistic. Only a mild success at the Monday matinee. "AT THE WALDORF" 9 men, 8 women. Set special F.S. interior. The scenery and costumes are excellent. Comedy good at times. In my opinion it is the poorest Lasky act in some time. It runs for 41 minutes and the audience shows decided signs of restlessness at times. It should be condensed and brightened up. Away behing "The Pianophiends," "The Country Club", and "The Imperial Musicians." GASCH SISTERS. 2 women. In 3 Palace. Time 7. Very clever women head and hand balancers. One head to head stand is remarkable and makes a big hit. Their work is all fast and good. Attractive appearance. FRED LINDSAY. F.S. Special. 1 woman, 3 men. Time 10. Mr Lindsay made an emphatic hit with his expert stock whip work. He snuffs out a candle, brushes the ashes from a cigarette, disarms an "enemy", cuts a bottle neatly in two and does other startling things with his long twenty five foot whip. A decided novelty and well worked out.
