REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW FOR WEEK DECEMBER 6, 1909. W. W. PROSSER. BURNS & FULTON: Young man and woman in a novelty and acrobatic dancing act with just a little bit of singing. A hard spot for them, notwithstanding which they pleased very well all the way through. There was scattered applause throughout and they finished quite strong. They gave a little time in one, which I believe handicapped them to some extent. 14 minutes, palace in 4, close in 1. BEDINI & ARTHUR: They were an emphatic hit all the way through and made a most excellent impression. The laughs were hearty and sincere, and the legitimate juggling provoked genuine applause. This act also gave us a little time in 1. 17 minutes, wood in 4, close in 1. THORNE & CARLETON: Man and woman in a comedy sketch. "The Soubrette and the Yap". This act held the audience all the way through and gained a number of good laughs. Not a great big hit but thoroughly satisfactory. 18 minutes, C. D. F. BARRY & WOLFORD: In a comedy skit, "It Happened on Monday". They introduced quite a bit of their old material and considerable new all of which went well. The act made good in every respect. 17 minutes, special in 1 1/2. THE EIGHT BERLIN MADCAPS: Their dancing was moderately well received throughout the act. They were hardly a distinct hit yet the act got by very nicely and apparently had no trouble in holding the attention of the audience. Finished pretty strong. 9 minutes, garden in 4. NAT WILLS: The same tramp comedian as of yore. A liberal allotment of his old stuff was given and a fairly good sprinkling of new. There was a slight demonstration upon his entrance but he didn't wake them up for a little while. finally he got them going his way in good shape and it was then a pretty easy matter for him to handle the house as he pleased. The finish was fairly strong, but I believe the act was well liked. 28 minutes, street in 1. HASSAN BEN ALI ARABS: Same big hit they have always scored here. Finished very strong. Palace in 5, 10 minutes. MOVING PICTURES: O. K. NOTE: This is a hard show to handle, but I expect to get better results out of it in the following order: Burns & Fulton, Thorne & Carleton, The Madcaps, Barry & Wolford, Bedini & Arthur, Nat Wills and the Arabs.
