REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF DECEMBER 13, 1910.

While the show this week is not bad, it is not up to those we have been giving the past two weeks, being rather mediocre in spots where I had expected something better.

MICHAEL FITSGERALD and his 8 JUGGLING GIRLS  This I can't say is a bad act, and while some of the girls do some pretty good work, the act seems to lack something. They failed to score very strongly this afternoon, so I moved them up to this position for the night performance. Some allowance must be made for the fact that this is their first American appearance, having just arrived from Europe. I might say the act is hardly worth the money, and yet, I don't see how nine people are going to get around for much less. 10 Min. F. S.

LYON, FISHER & LYON  This act was intended originally to open the show, but as they open and close in One, I pressed them into service as practically an act in One, in order to move the juggling act up. This is a fair little act, and that is about as much as I can say for it. It consists of singing and dancing. 14 Min.

HORTON & La TRISKA  Well-known clown and doll act, which, while it went very well, did not score the big hit I have seen it make in other cities. 15 Min. F. S. Can close in One.

Ed MORTON  Comic Singer. One of the hits of the bill. I consider him very good indeed. 15 Min. in One.

LISLE LEIGH & CO.  In a new comedy sketch, "In the Rain". This sketch opens with a very realistic rain storm, of real water, seen through the windows of a drawing-room, which is the set of the act. A lot of thunder and lightning before the curtain and during the first part of the act gives it atmosphere and as the rain is kept up and is seen by the audience during the first five minutes of the sketch it is something of a novelty. The theme is a bachelor about to go out to a dinner, reads of alady burglar who has been robbing houses in this country neighborhood, and seeing a lady on the porch taking refuge from the rain, mistakes her for the burglar. They are both friends of some people they are to later meet at a reception and a lot of funny situations arise, especially after the lady, in order to guy the bachelor, pretends to really be a burglar. The act went very well with today's audience here, but as Miss Leigh and Company are going to play it at the Fifth Avenue next Sunday, in order to show it to the various managers and agents, I would prefer not to give a strong opinion on the act. I would suggest that it will be worth while for the various booking agents to see the act next Sunday.

CARRIEbDE MAR Two of last season's songs and two new ones. One of the old songs and one of the new ones made hits. Theother two fell flat. She left them strong, however, with her "Lonesome Flossie". 20 Min. in One.

CONNOLLY & WEBB  With the material I have, I found it expedient to put these people in this position, which they are hardly strong enough to hold. They have a good novelty, and with a first class comedian, the act would be a big hit. Mr. Connolly has not sufficient unction to get the laughs that his material deserves. The act is good for a number three or four spot. 21 Min. F. S.

STUART BARNES  Some new songs, not as good as those of last year, together with last season's monologue. He went well, but didn't prove that he is worth his salary. 20 Min. in One.

CE DORA  Motor cycling in the Golden Globe. Very sensational. 8 Min. F. S.
