124 KEITH'S HIPPODROME. Jan 31st 1910 Cleveland, Ohio Ned Hastings. BOYLE BROTHERS. 2 men. Time 9. In 3. Hoop rolling, throwing and club juggling. Neat, fast and novel. High class and entertaining throughout. RYAN & WHITE. 2 young men. Time 7. One of the best pair of dancers seen here in some time. Won generous applause throughout. FRANKIE CARPENTER-JERE GRADY & CO. 2 men, 1 woman. Time 22. Special effective full stage. "The Toll Bridge." A novelty comedy sketch chiefly notable for the excellent characterization of an old man which reached genuine realism. There is a pleasant vein of humor which balances the serious side well. THE THREE DUMONTS. 2 men, 1 woman. In 1. Time 17. this well known instrumental act scored its usual hit. HARRY H. RICHARDS & CO. C.D.F. Time 22. "Love a la Mode." 2 women, 1 man. The sketch got by in fair shape although there is not material enough for the time taken. As an interpolation the two women sing at the piano very well. The comedy is very bad consisting of monkey antics, pillow throwing and similar stunts. While the act won applause at times, there is abundant room for much improvement. SUBERS, COAKLEY & McBRIDE. 3 men. Time 28. In 2 special back drop. Black face minstrels. For fifteen minutes they offer the most antique comedy heard here for moons. Two men attempt songs which meet with indifferent success. The act drags frightfully at this point. Emil Subers livens things up in good shape with a couple of rattling songs. Coakley then puts on a great soft shoe dance. With ten minutes cut out and the first part entirely reconstructed the act would be in good shape. 6 MUSICAL CUTTYS. 3 men, 3 women. Time 18. Open F.S., close in 1. Brilliant success throughout. LITTLE BILLY. In 1. Time 13. Little Billy does two songs,-an inebriate "swell" and a Scotch kiltie. He gets by in fine shape with these. The big part of his success, however, is due to his very clever dancing with which he finished in two numbers. I believe he will bring the business in before the week is over in good shape. GRUBERS ANIMALS. Time 14. F.S. Elephant, Horse, pony. 1 man, 1 woman. While Gruber follows out a more or less conventional line of work, there is a rapidity and polish to the act that elevates it out of the ordinary. The act made a very pleasing impression here at the opening matinee. HIPPOGRAPH.
