216 REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF APRIL 11, 1910. Charles Lovenberg, Manager The show played splendidly and evidently gave satisfaction to the audience present. ELLA FONDILER A little wire act, with some Russian dancing at the finish. Got by all right as an opener. 10 Min. Open F.S. Close in One. HAYWARD & HAYWARD In a sketch somewhat resembling Norton & Nicholson's "Ella's All Right", altho not nearly as good. It is funny in spots, but rather technical to the average auditor, dealing with expressions only show people understand. 16 Min. F. S. MRS. W. E. ANNIS & CO Mrs. Annis has surrounded herself with three very clever young men. The act as a whole is very acceptable. Instead of her name being an asset, I am satisfied that it is a detriment to the act. In spite of the fact that we gave her lots of advertising and of the kind that would get her sympathy, she didn't get a hand when she walked on the stage, and the fact that she is featured makes the audience expect more from her, with consequent disappointment. I am sure that if the act were presented as the So-and-So Quartette it would go much better. 20 Min. in Two. CHARLES LEONARD FLETCHER Probably the best act he ever gave us. 23 Min. Open and Close in one. 3 LEIGHTONS Just the act for this spot lending a lot of life and ginger after the quiet stuff that preceded it and making a very big hit. 20 Min. F. S. Close in One. FOUR OLD SOLDIER FIDDLERS Everyone connected with the theatre was very much surprised at the way this act went. They were most cordially received by the audience, got lots of applause and laughter and the audience entered into the patriotic spirit, standing up in a body when they played the National airs. The act is well mounted, using a special panorama drop which hangs in two. The act as presented today was too long, however. Will endeavor to cut it down to 15 or 18 Min. Played today 25 Min. LES TROMBETTAS Imitations of various animals, et cetera, singing and comedy. A very big hit. 12 Min. in One. WARREN, LYON & MYERS These people had a little hard sledding at first, following all the hits that preced [preceded] them and the first part of their act is rather quiet for this spot. Not by any means the big hit they were in New York. 20 Min. Open F. S. Close in One. THE KEATONS Just as big a hit as ever. 25 Min. Open F.S. Close in One. 6 FLYING BANVARDS Very handsomely mounted and quite a showy act, altho their work by no means compares with some of the other casting acts that we have had. 10 Min. F.S. KEITH MOTION PICTURES O.K.
