PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S JANUARY 16, 2 FABLES & TOPICS - Good. The former very good. FIVEK & JERRY - (5 mins.) A very good skating act by two men. Tricks very showy and well done. Act well dressed and got a big hand. PEGGIE CARHART - (14 mins.) Very well received. A clever violinist with a repertoire of popular numbers. VALERIE BERGERE in "O Joy San" (22 mins.) This appears to be an old act re-vamped but Miss Bergere went just as big as ever with it here. It is very well played. Closed strong. KIRBY, QUINN & ANGER - (19 mins.) A local turn and very well received The boys are excellent dancers and the girl sings a couple of numbers. Act got over on its merits and will do very well. FRITZI SCHEFF - (14 mins.) Her first appearance here in several years and she was warmly welcomed. Her voice was in good trim and she made her usual attractive appearance. JOE COOK - (32 mins.) One of the biggest comedy hits we have had here in a long time. He is better than ever both in his own act and while working with the act that follows. It is undoubtedly one of the very best comedy hits that we play. ALEXANDER BROS. & EVELYN - (14 mins.) Placing this act in this position and with Joe Cook's assistance gave us another sure-fire comedy hit. It was a laugh as well from start to finish. MARGARET YOUNG - (20 mins.) With an entire program of new numbers and with the assistance of a piano-player she was a big applause hit. An ideal next to closing act for this bill. LAURA & BILLY DREYER - (9 mins.) This is a very good dancing act and a good looking number, doing very well in the closing position and holding them in. Plenty of variety in their work and all well done. PATHE NEWS - (5 mins.) Very good. An improvement over last week. GENERAL REMARKS - A fine bill that played smoothly and everyone seemed to like it, being especially strong with Joe Cook's big comedy hit. CUTS Kirby, Quinn & Anger - Thumbing nose in Greek dance.
