PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S FEB. 20th. 2. FABLES & TOPICS OF THE DAY - Fables very good. "Topics" up to the usual average. THE CLOWN SEAL - (14 mins.) A very good novelty and a bigger hit than any of the other seal acts we have played. MILLER & CAPMAN - (9 mins.) Two boys, clever steppers, with a good routine of dances. Did very nicely in this spot. W. C. FIELD'S "FAMILY FORD" - (11 mins.) A lot of people had seen this act with the Follies and the addition of having Jim Harkins, a Philadelphian, as principal comedian, made this a very good comedy feature. It got a lot of laughs and made an excellent number for this spot. FRANKIE HEATH - (22 mins.) Played this girl sometime ago in a double act but her single offering is very much better and she does a very classy singing turn. She has a lot of good songs, gets plenty out of them and makes a very nice appearance. Finished very strong. GERTRUDE HOFFMANN - (38 mins.) This act was first produced in this house last fall and most of Miss Hoffmann's dancers are Philadelphia girls. It is undoubtedly the best act Miss Hoffmann has done in years and repeated splendidly. RAE ELEANOR HALL & BROTHER - (17 mins.) Still remains one of the real class musical turns we play regularly and was deservedly one of the applause hits of the show. PRESSLER & KLAISS - (14 mins.) Another local turn but the act gets over on its merits and was a big laughing hit in this position. HARRY LA VAIL & SISTER - (5 mins.) One of the very best ring acts seen and it furnished a closing number that was as well received as any we have had in sometime. PATHE NEWS - (11 mins.) About the usual average but nothing of special importance. GENERAL REMARKS - An excellent bill for Washington's Birthday week. The Hoffmann act is a repeater this season but contains a great deal of local interest. It was warmly received and the bill surrounding it proved generally satisfactory. -O-
