PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S FEBRUARY 27th 2 AESOP'S FABLES & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Very good and seemed to please our audience. BILL & BLONDY - (7 mins.) Two men hand-balancing. Dressed as small boys, they do some very clever tricks and did well as opener. JOHN ORREN & LILLIAN DREW - (14 mins.) They imitate birds and animals, working it up in a good comedy style. Very clever and were well liked. TOTO - (18 mins.) One of our best repeaters. Has added some new stuff and was a good sized laughing and applause hit. SYLVIA CLARK - (21 mins.) Doing about the same line of material used on her last visit but she fitted in nicely in this spot and registered a good comedy hit. STEPHENS & HOLLISTER - (19 mins.) This act also did very well on its second visit here. They have a new setting and have freshened up their material in talk and songs. It is a classy comedy turn, well played, and was very well liked. EDDIE KANE & JAY HERMAN - (20 mins.) This is a very good two man talking act and a big laugh winner. Some of their material is a bit rough but they managed to wring plenty of laughs with their "nutty" style of work. They were a big hit, closing strong. HACKETT & DELMAR - (27 mins.) A dancing act, colorful and containing an excellent variety of stepping by one man and all the girls, the supporting group giving Miss Hackett more than the average support. It is good looking, nicely staged and met with warm favor. BELLE BAKER - (29 mins.) First time here in more than two years and proved the expected draw, as well as a big applause hit. She has never had better songs nor has she ever gone bigger in this house. We held her over a second week and expect her success this week to boost her stay. THE CROMWELLS - (6 mins.) Comedy juggling act by man and woman, the former dressing in girl's clothes. Good routine of showy tricks and satisfactory closing act. PATHE NEWS - (6 mins.) About the usual average. Nothing to speak of. GENERAL REMARKS - With Belle Baker as headliner the whole bill went over fine and did not have a chance to fall down. Even the beginning of the Lenten Season failed to diminish the crowd or enthusiasm. CUTS ORREN & DREW - "Cat's Meow"; "Son of a gun"; "play you a dirty trick" and mention of local hotel. TOTO - Business of killing bed bug KANE & HERMAN -Reference to the Taylor case; "The Jamsion gag"; modifying story of taxi ride; the cissy business and use of word "dirty."
