PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S MAY 20, 8 PATHE. 15 min. Up to the usual average. KARL EMMY & HIS PETS. 15 min. This is one of the prettiest dog acts on the stage. The dogs are very well groomed, make a fine appearance and work freely, so that it is a great act for women to watch. As usual, did very well. FRISCOE. 17 min. His selections on the xylophone were a big hit. He plays popular music and catches the pulse of the audience at the very start. Each of his numbers went well and he was forced to give an extra encore. CLAIRE VINCENT & CO. "The Recoil." 25 min. A one-act domestic comedy with an old theme written in a new way and well played by three people. There are numerous comedy lines and situations in it, making it a first-rate laugh-winner which kept the audience amused. Finished very strong. MISSES CAMPBELL. 16 min. With the exception of a couple of song numbers, their act remains the same as they have been doing for the past year or two. This is their third visit here and they have made good each time. They were very well received, won plenty of applause and finished to a good hand. JOE JACKSON. 11 min. His act remains the same as ever but it proved a good laugh-winner. He got a liberal amount of laughs during his clever pantomime work and finished very good. STELLA MAYHEW. 18 min. Her single offering is one of the best acts she has ever used in vaudeville. All but one of her numbers are new and there is plenty of comedy in her work from start to finish. She also adds just a little patriotic touch to her offering, referring to the absence of her former partner, Billie Taylor, and this won her an extra round of applause. She has some very good songs, gets them over with her usual magnetic personality and registered a solid hit. YVETTE & SARANOFF. 18 min. This act was one of the big applause hits of the show. They have a highly colored and very elaborately costumed musical novelty which will fill an important spot on any bill. Their violin numbers pleased the music lovers and they help it along by bits of comedy well handled. They closed to a very big hand. BERT FITZGIBBON. 18 min. The usual string of nonsensical chatter is used by this comedian. Although a lot of it is old, it brought good results and a young girl who sings from one of the boxes was a big help. She sang two numbers, each of which earned a round of applause and the act closed to a big hand. SEVEN BRACKS. 12 min. A very showy acrobatic turn by seven men. They wear attractive costumes and their routine of tricks is varied and well executed, particularly the risley work which is about the best we have seen. Made an excellent closing act. GENERAL REMARKS. This proved a very good show with a little bit of everything in it to please, plenty of comedy and music enlivening the action and every act won its individual honors. It is very hard to get anything out of a small audience on a warm afternoon, but under the conditions this show proved thoroughly satisfactory.
