PHILADELPHIA B.F. KEITH'S JULY 29, 8 PATHE. 14 min. The usual average, good war pictures. THREE WEBER GIRLS. 8 min. Did unusually well as an opener with song, dances and acrobatics. Plenty of action and finished strong. HARRIS & MOREY. 17 min. Two of the former trio - Harris, Morey & Golet - and their rathskeller act was a big hit, holding up the show while they responded to an extra encore. ARTHUR HAVEL & CO. "Playmates." 18 min. A Will H. Cressy playlet, good comedy and well handled. The act employs four persons. There are two song numbers near the finish and the act closed to a good hand. KRAMER & MORTON. 16 min. Working in blackface along the same lines as their former offering but have a lot of new material that got plenty of laughs. Act was very well liked all the way and finished strong. FRITZI SCHEFF. 15 min. In much better voice than usual and was warmly received in her first vaudeville appearance here in about three years. She is using more popular numbers than in the past and did very well with them. Made a stunning appearance in a most elaborate costume and finished to a big hand. GOULD & LEWIS. 21 min. A young fellow and girl in songs, comedy and a dancing finish. The man's comedy efforts are given entirely to nut material, only fairly well done; but they picked up nicely with their dancing finish which helped them off to a good hand. Act just about fair. JAMES WATTS. Assisted by Rex Storey. 16 min. This act started very slowly, the comedy talk failing to get over to any kind of good results and the act missed fire until some burlesque classic dancing is used for a finish. It is rather too draggy for a travesty act and was only fairly well received. WHEATON & CARROLL. 17 min. The legitimate hit of the show with songs and piano numbers. Miss Wheaton, dainty and winsome, had her audience won from the start and both were accorded a reception. After this it was easy sailing for both, each number being an individual hit. Finished strong, the audience applauding for more after the stage had been set for the next act. IOLEEN SISTERS. 8 min. Tight wire walking and sharpshooting. In the closing position of a lively show, they held this spot very satisfactorily and finished to a good hand. GENERAL REMARKS. A very good summer bill with music and singing its strongest feature. Several big hits were nicely distributed, giving the show an excellent general average. Gould & Lewis and Kramer & Morton exchanged places after the first show. CUT ARTHUR RAVEL & CO. Business of thumbing nose.
