PHILADELPHIA B.F.KEITH'S January 13, 9 CURRENT EVENTS - Very good lot of pictures. (8 mins.) EMMA FRANCIS & HER ARABS - 9 mins. A very good flashy dancing act with a routine of fast acrobatics. Good combination and a very good opener. WEBER & RIDNOR - 9 mins. A young couple with a very good routine of dancing. Open with a song and finish with some very speedy stepping. Girl makes two changes. Went very well. KALMAR & BROWN - in "BUGLAND" 18 mins. A very high class dancing turn with especially elaborate stage settings and changes of costume, the latter representing different kinds of bugs. They introduced a couple of song numbers. Dancing is varied, well executed and the act made a very good impression. FRANCIS YATES & GUS REED - in "Double Crossing" 20 mins. a very good singing and talking act. Open with one of the men impersonating a woman, getting a big laugh when the disclosure is made and putting over some good comedy talk afterwards. They finished with a big laugh in which a girl is used for a comedy line. The act went over big. LOIS JOSEPHINE & TYLER BROOKE - 26 mins. This new act offered by Miss Josephine lacks the brilliancy and snap of the one she did will Wellington Cross owing to the lack of comedy. They each have several songs which got only fair results but their dancing is classy, well executed and was very well received. Ted Shapiro, at the piano lends able assistance and the act got over in very good shape. MR. & MRS. JIMMY BARRY in "The Burglar" 22 mins. Second time here for this sketch and as before it furnished a very good laughing hit. They were given a reception, got plenty of laughs and finished to a very good hand. EDDIE LEONARD & CO. - 34 mins. His new act was a tremendous applause hit and is undoubtedly the best thing he has ever offered in vaudeville. The capacity audience applauded every number, including those by the minstrel boys, who support Leonard and he finished so strong that he had to come back and do three extra numbers. LAURIE & BRONSON - 22 mins. Despite the hurrah finish of the Leonard act this young couple went on in the next to closing spot and put over a big laughing and applause hit. Their quiet comedy talk got over in great shape and they closed to a big hand. FOUR READINGS - 10 mins. This has always been a very good act in this house and repeated this time, following a long and heavy show and holding the spot in great shape. GENERAL REMARKS - a big musical and dancing show with an unusual amount of color to it. Entirely different from what we gave them last week and was very well received by a capacity audience.
