PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S February 17, 9 KINOGRAMS- 15 mins. First showing of these pictures. Unquestionably made a good impression with our audience, the coloring being a big improvement on the old black and white and the pictures very interesting. BEN BEYER & AUGUSTA - 10 mins. A man and woman in a routine of fancy and trick cycling. The man works in comedy make-up and gets some laughs. Ordinary routine of tricks. Did fairly well. BURLEY & BURLEY - 9 mins. Act substituted for Ward & Pryor. Two men in comedy acrobatic turn, one working comedy and one straight. Finished to a fair hand. DAN BRUCE & MARGOT DUFFET COMPANY - 14 mins. First showing of this sketch "Thru The Keyhole". It is a story different from any we have seen. Has little snap to it and the comedy drew only a few laughs. Closed lightly. EMMA STEVENS - 13 mins. Did very well with popular songs, all of which she sang well. She is in need of some new selections, most of her numbers having been done often here. She has a winning personality and finished to a good hand. IDA MAY CHADWICK & DAD - in "Wiggin's Post Office" - 17 mins. A big laughing applause hit. Open with comedy talk that got plenty of laughs and their dancing finish was a riot. The girl does some great hard-shoe stepping and finishes with an eccentric number. They were brought back to take several extra bows. "SAILOR REILLY" - 12 mins. This boy is a Philadelphian and was a big hit here last year during the recruiting for the Navy. He was given a warm welcome and each of his songs brought liberal response. He has several new numbers and was forced to finish up with a little speech of thanks. PRINCESS RADJAH - 12 mins. Her two dances are picturesque. A snake is used for the first and an exhibition of remarkable teeth work, holding a chair, gives her second a strong finish. Picturesque stage setting and dressing makes the act very showy and it was well received. PHYLLIS NEILSON TERRY - 17 mins. Last year she played here as a tragedienne, scoring strongly, and she was equally as big a hit this time as a vocaliste. Sang three selections, all high class and disclosing a voice of excellent quality and remarkable range. For an enchore she did a patriotic poem and finished very strong. THE AVON COMEDY FOUR - 23 mins. It makes no difference how many times we play this act it is always one of the biggest laughing hits on the bill. It is the same this time, keeping the audience in a roar from start to finish. BELLECLAIRE BROTHERS - 8 mins. These boys have one very big trick for the finish of their act and it held the house seated for it. Up to this their regular routine of hand-to-hand feats proved interesting and gained some applause. The big trick is one of the showiest of its kine we have ever seen and gives a great finish to the act. GENERAL REMARKS - This bill is probably one of the most varied we have given in some time, being a mixture of low comedy and class, so that it reaches all our patrons. Burley & Burley took the place of Ward & Pryor at the last minute and the substitution of a quiet acrobatic turn for a singing and comedy act slowed up the first half of the show. The Chadwick act gave it a good start, however, and it was a high speed bill from there on.
