PROVIDENCE. R. I. B. F. KEITH'S MARCH 17th, 9 The show is quite good this week; the acts are all pleasing, there is nothing remarkable about it, but it balances up well and I think the audience is satisfied. CHAS. LOVENBERG. CUMMINGS & WHITE: Two men in a hand balancing act in garden set. Well put on and what they do is good, but including possibly two minutes of pantomime of taking pho[to]graphs and other little stalling, they consume entirely six minutes. It seems to me that we ought to commence to pay some attention to these extremely short acts. When we have an act of this kind on the bill, it means usually unless you have some very long ones to off set it, that we must get an additional act and go out to spend the price of that additional act to make up the first act's time. I can't say that I think a performer very able who cannot interest an audience at least ten minutes. Full stage. MILLER & LYLE: Colored comedians who went as well as usual in about the same act they have given us several times. 12 min. in one. FOUR HALEY SISTERS: Four attractive girls with pleasant voices who sing popular songs successfully. 12 min. in one. WM. GIBSON & REGINA CONNELLI: In an excellent comedy sketch, excellently played, "The Honeymoon". Will make good anywhere yet I think in spite of that, the price is entirely too high, considering they have not any box office value until the middle of the week. 24 min. full stage. Very short curtain speech in one which is really part of the act. WELLINGTON CROSS: Mr. Cross fared pretty well, but made by no means a big hit, until the latter part of his act when Mr. Gibson of the preceeding act came on the stage with him with a lot of burlesque. That part of the act, thanks to Mr. Gibson is a riot. All told 27 min. in one. WOOD & WYDE: In a new sketch called "Lost & Found" scene laid in Greenwich Village, New York with a very pretty setting. I don't believe the sketch itself is quite as good as their earlier ones and they did not far quite as well. 17 min. in one 1/2. VAN & SCHENCK: As usual these boys cleaned up; far and away the big hit of the show. 19 min. in one. APDALE'S ANIMALS: A good lively act introducing dogs, bears, and ant eaters. Good closing act. 12 min. full stage. MOTION PICTURES: O. K. CUTS: WOOD & WYDE: Change or cut verse in song, "I dived and missed my aim, referring to catching hold of some other part of the body other than the toe. Cut My God. Cut thumbing of nose. WELLINGTON CROSS: Do not refer to other attractions playing in other theatres in the city.
