PHILADELPHIA B. F. Keith's May 12th, 9 KINOGRAMS - this weeks issue was considerably brightened by "Topics of the Day," first showing. The latter was very good and got a lot of laughs. GERARD'S MONKEYS - (14 mins.) Excellent novelty and did very well as an opener. Their routine is featured by some trapeze work that is exceptionally well done. POWERS & WALLACE - (15 mins.) Man and woman in singing and talking. This act got only fair results. There seems to be too much talk at the opening giving them a slow start, but the song picked them up fairly well. Closed lightly. STANLEY & BIRNES - (11 mins.) Good dancing act by two boys. They work in evening clothes before a special drop. Plenty of snap to their dancing which is varied and they closed to a good hand. FLORENZE TEMPEST - (19 mins.) About the same style of act she did last season, with a couple of new songs. She makes three changes, two being in boy's dress and closes strong with a duet number with her pianist, Mr. Harriss. Closed very good. "RAINBOW"COCKTAIL" - (19 mins.) A pretty novelty that fitted into this bill in good shape. It is pretty, nicely staged and contains plenty of color. It lacks comedy punch but got by nicely. A toe dance scored solidly near the finish and the act got a good hand on the closing number. LANDER BROTHERS - (21 mins.) A big laughing hit and placed just right in this bill. They have a lot of good comedy talk and one of the men does a recitation stunt that was a riot of laughs. Closed big. MARIE CAHILL - (21 mins.) She received a big reception and the audience received everything she did with marked approval. Her telephone bit was a laughing hit and her songs, both old and new, got over splendidly. She is an artistic single and with her name and popularity held down the position of headliner very satisfactorily. LAMBERT & BALL - (22 mins.) Just as big a hit as ever and following a lot of singing. They have some new songs and everyone of them scored. Miss Lambert wore three stunning gowns. DARING SISTERS - (7 mins.) A very pretty trapeze act. Clever gymnasts, have a good routine and make a very striking appearance. GENERAL REMARKS - There is plenty of singing in this bill and a big laughing comedy number to help it along. Miss Cahill held her spot nicely and the whole show went over great with a capacity audience.
