COLUMBUS SHOW FOR WEEK FEBRUARY 13, 1911. W. W. Prosser. DE RENZO & LA DUE: This pair are very good performers on trapeze, working very fast and winning applause at various points. Their several tricks were appreciated and they finished strong. The act was characterized more by work than grace, some of their movements not being particularly pleasing to the eye and rather awkward looking. Made quite a good opener. 6 minutes, spec. cyc. in 5. CARBREY BROS.: These boys fared very well, opening with a song and going into a routine of dancing of different styles that was well received. They finished their initial number strong and returned with an eccentric sailor dance which just abour got by. They would have been better off without it. Olio, 9 minutes in 1. WARD & CURRAN: In "The Terrible Judge". Fared very well all the way through, winning a number of laughs and holding the attention. Proved satisfactory. 23 minutes, C. D. F., finished in 1. JOHN P. WADE & CO.: In "[Masse's?] Chicken Dinner". This is an interesting little sketch with a pretty story well worked out. Mr. Wade's impersonation of the old negro servant is a very good piece of character acting. The old judge and his daughter were very well played and the entire offering proved successful. Finished moderately strong. Plain chamber, 2 1/2, 20 minutes. OSCAR LORAINE: Portean Violinist. Presented the same act he has done here before and did very well. His comedy numbers were the biggest hits. Held the attention and finished fairly strong. 17 minutes, special in 2, close in 1. CHARLOTTE PARRY & CO.: In "The Comstock Mystery". Miss Parry was very successful, the act scoring all along the line and finishing strong. 24 minutes, library in 3. HOWARD & HOWARD: Quite a bit of new material and some of the old, this time doing what they term "The Porter and the Salesman". Won a lot of laughs and proved very successful, although they had a hard time at the beginning, due no doubt to following the act preceding. Finished strong. 19 minutes, street in 1. TASMANIAN-VAN DIEMAN TROUPE: Six girls in an acrobatic offering the novelty of which consists of some aerial iron jaw work by various members of the organization. Sort of flying ballet effect. The act is well dressed, but there is nothign especially remarkable about it. The pyramid and acrobatic work is only fair. The act held attention but that is about all. Finished moderately strong. 8 minutes, garden in 5. MOVING PICTURE: O. K. NOTE: The show in its entirety is too quiet and lacks life. The bad feature is a lack of women, the numerous men giving it an air of sameness.
