Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of March 31, 1913. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager The bill this week gave evident satisfaction to the audience present. It is a show with plenty of life and while some of the acts were better liked by the audience than by me, I think it can be said that it is a good show. HANDERS & MILLISS Two young men with an act made up of a little comedy, a little piano playing, a little singing, a little acrobatics and some dancing, altogether a good turn, unusual in its general make-up. 10 min. in one VISIONS D' ART This act seemed to please, but the fact remains that it in no way compares with the beautiful Simone D'Beryl act, which we had the opening week of the season. 12 Min. F. S. EDISON TALKING PICTURES The interest seems to hold up in good shape and the subjects this week are, at least in one respect, more interesting than any we have had since the opening - "The Politician," a comedy; got plenty of laughs; went almost like a little sketch. CONLY & WEBB Personally, I can't see this act with spy-glasses. I think the man is the hardest comedian I ever saw, but the audience laughed and I presume that's all that's necessary. 17 Min. Open F. S. Close in One. CHRIS RICHARDS I think this man is over-rated and over-paid. He is a funny eccentric dancer, but his comedy, like all English comedians, is very coarse and broad and rather unfunny. He goes well on the strength of his dancing, however. 11 Min. in one. "SCROOGE" Dramatization of the Dickens' story, which is well known all over the circuit. Suffice to say that it went exceedingly well today. 34 Min. F. S. JULIET? This young lady, to my mind, is the star of the show, from an artistic standpoint. I have never seen her act before; had I seen her, I might have headlined her. Her work went tremendously all through and great applause at the finish. 25 Min. in One. GALLAGHER & FIELDS In "The Battle of Bay Rum." Exceedingly funny and made a great closing act. 15 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
