C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. APRIL 14, 1913. THREE ARTHURS. 9 min. Two girls who make a very good appearance and a young man as equally expert as they. Do the regulation stunts and some few that are new. An all right opener. Finished well. GRACE WILSON. 16 min. Gowned fetchingly and sings dialect songs very acceptably. Compelled to give an encore and made a good close. All right for even a better spot. KINETOPHONE. 13 min. "The Merchant of Venice." Made a fairly good impression. "The Anniversary of Jerry and Mandy." Picturesque and contains some ood music, and photographically, is perfect. The best Kinetophone film that we have had yet. EVA TAYLOR & CO. "After the Wedding." 20 min. in two. A sketch of domestic mix-ups along conventional lines but full of ginger and life. Well noted, the two women in the cast being especially beautifully gowned. Held the spot in great shape and made a fine close. ELSA RUEGGER. 15 min. Has not a great tone for a big house like this, but is exquisitely sweet and technically perfect. Gave two numbers which were so loudly applauded that she had to respond to two encores. A strong feature where a high-class musical solo act is required. LE BALLET CLASSIQUE. 17 min.F.S. A beautiful production along conventional lines with pretty girls, splendidly costumed and excellent music. Each one of the series of dances was applauded and they got a strong finishing hand. HUNTING & FRANCIS. 15 min in one. A lively singing, dancing and patter sketch tht held this spot on the bill acceptably. Laughter and applause throughout and closed OK. George Beban & Co. "The sign of the Rose." 23 min. This is the third time that Boban has given his playlet here and it must be given to his credit that it held the interest of the audience just as closely as ever and the applause at the finish was immense. A great act and no mistake. CHRIS RICHARDS 11 min in one. This eccentric Englishman following Boban's twenty-five minutes of pathos scored a decisive victory and was a solid laughing hit every minute he was on the stage. Closed immensely. RAYNO'S DOGS 9 min. This act played off as well today as any time previously introducing a few new novelties. A big scream right up to the rousing finish. An ideal closer for any show. KINETOGRAPH "Coaling Battleships at sea". Photographically interesting. "The Horse that would'nt stay hitched." Very funny. GENERAL REMARKS. This a thoroughly satisfactory show, playing off smoothly and giving the audience big value for their money. CUTS HUNTING AND FRANCIS Expression raise the devil;"Also reference to DR. Munyon."
