BIG TIME SEASON REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK SEPTEMBER 1, 1913--W.W. PROSSER SELBINI & GROVINI: Presenting "Novelty Vaudeville Bits". This well-known couple are doing about the same style of work as before but with quite a number of improvements. Plenty of life and thoroughly entertaining. Went well throughout and finished strong. Garden in 4, 11 minutes. ZANESVILLE & WHEELING. HAL & FRANCES: Young man and woman in a singing, talking and dancing skit, "The Stock Farm". This is an exceptionally good act of its kind. To the credit of the team, they attain excellent results without resorting to noise or questionable material. The entire atmosphere is quiet and genteel, but the work is very capably presented. They are a genuine relief after the great number of "Whoop-em-up-and-holler" acts which have predominated for some time past. Finished very strong. Special in 1, 20 minutes. CLEVELAND. BYRON & LANGDON: In a new edition of "The Dude Detective". The old characters remain, but there is a lot of new lines and business, giving the necessary freshness. Proved a good laughing number throughout, and finished fairly strong. An extra song at the finish was the cause of the let-down. This will be taken out, which will undoubtably round them out in great shape. C.D.F. in 3, 20 min. CINCINNATI. JAMES H. CULLEN: The "Man From The West". He has some new material and some old, all of which was very well received. In fact, he did much better than I looked for, owing to his many previous visits here. Got along alright, made 'em laugh, and finished strong. Olio in 1, 19 minutes. (Toledo. MADAME BERTHA KALICH: One woman and two men in "The Light From St. Agnes". This well-known artist gave a very meritorious presentation of a miniature tragedy. The work of herself and co-workers was all that could be desired. They held undivided attention throughout, taking several curtains at the finish. Special in 5, 34 minutes. NEW YORK CITY. EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR: Well-known comedy quartet which scored heavily, notwithstanding the fact that they were compelled to work in street clothes on account of the loss of their trunks. Did very well throughout and finished strong. Street in 1, 15 minutes. CLEVELAND. HUBERT DYER & PETER ALVIN Two men, one straight, one comedy, in flying ring number. Good of its kind, gaining plenty of laughter and scoring a fairly strong finish. Special in [?], [?] minutes. TOLEDO. PATHE WEEKLY O.K.
