B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE, CINCINNATI, OHIO. OPENING REGULAR SEASON. Week of August 31st, 1913. J. F. Royal. THE PEERS 8 min. F.S. Garden. Two men in comedy bar act. This made a fine opening, as the men worked fast and performed a series of clever and difficult feats. The slap stick comedy is commonplace, but they got several big laughs and closed very strong. PAYL NEVINS & RUBY ERWOOD 16 min. in one Street. Man and woman in black face singing, talking and dancing. The act opened fairly bright but lagged in the middle. The dance at the finish earned them a good close. UNA CLAYTON & CO. 28 min. F.S. Library. Three men and a woman in a great comedy sketch "A Child Shall Lead Them". This act made a tremendous hit. Its theme is very ingenious and it carries the audience along from pathos to comedy in a most fascinating manner. Miss Clayton is the bright star of the act and at the finish received a number of well deserved curtain calls. It is a story of a street waif who finds a baby in her hall and, because she had understood in the bible that a child shall lead them, she abandons the child on the veranda of a millionaire, as she feels he needed leading. VIOLINSKY 15 min. in one Olio. Clean cut young man in a novelty violin and piano act. Opened with violin selection, then to piano, in one number playing violin and piano at the same time. His big hit was his impersonation of a moving picture piano player. Went very big. RAFAYETTE'S ANIMALS 11 min. F.S. 2 min. close in one. Clever dog act, but not strong enough for this spot. Went very well however. AVON COMEDY FOUR 20 min. Open F.S. Close in one. Doing their school room act and repeating their big hit of past visits. They have a new top tenor who sings well. Closing songs did not go well as expected, because of the similarity in lyrics. MARIE DRESSLER 13 min. F.S. Palace Open lively in great comedy number "Great Big Girl Like Me". While in a difficult spot following the Avon Four, had the house laughing, and her impersonations of Tetrazzini and Ruth St. Denis were screams. Close very big. JORDON GIRLS 10 min. Open in one. Close F.S. Olio and Garden. Two girls and a third lady in a pretty wire act. Two girls are exceptionally attractive. Open in one with cute little song and dance, go to full stage, perform on wire. They are neat and graceful and their routine very pleasing. They are nothing extraordinary. Held them in well. COMEDY PHOTO PICTURE CUTS Word Nozerous from Avon Comedy Four.
